I've read many of Patterson's books with Alex Cross being the main character. They're usually very entertaining books that are quick reads and have a "twist" at the end that you didn't really see coming. Alex Cross is a very likeable character in all of these books.......and they absolutely ruined him by casting Tyler ing Perry.........Very Funny!

"Good Books" is a term I'd use loosely. They're excellent books for a 3 hour flight because they move so quickly. They're sort of like what "The Avengers" is to movies, entertaining and fast paced, but won't win an Oscar anytime soon.
I have most of Pattersons "Alex Cross" books. While very entertaining they aren't on a par with James Lee Burkes stories about Louisiana (also been movies made) detective Dave Robicheaux. Grab "Neon Rain", great place to start.
Lee Childs stories featuring Jack Reacher, good stuff.

Actually, this thread was about Alex Cross the movie. I already explained that it was based on the books, then you decided to make it about your opinion on other books.
So listen to your own advice and stick to the topic.
My dad, a New Orleans native, just started on the Robicheaux series. He's never been a hard core reader but he's really gotten hooked so I'd take that as a glowing recommendation.
Moot point since Avante will look to blame others other than himself.
I expect this thread to be at least 2-3 pages long with people defecating on Avante's Internet persona, imo, you're chick being so thirsty, etc.

As to the topic of the OP, the movie doesn't look like anything special but I'd be willing to buy a ticket and make Perry the most successful action star in the history of cinema if it will keep him too busy to write.
