It's official: Bill Simmons and Jalen Rose are replacing Chris Broussard and Jon Barry.
Apparently SVG didn't get the job because of Stern:

What I find fascinating … you have to give David Stern and the NBA a lot of credit … ESPN pays the league, and then the league tells them what to do. It’s more ESPN’s problem. You gotta have no balls whatsoever to pay someone hundreds of millions of dollars and let them run your business.

Better than Barry...at least Simmons will be able to add some quality but it won't be Inside the NBA and it shouldn't try to emulate...

Jon Barry is a major bag, anything that gets him off my TV screen is acceptable.
It's an improvement, but simmons is made for writing. He is not really a live TV person.

Stern probably didn't want another truth talking loose cannon like JVG tbh. Glad to see him call ESPN out on being Stern's .

Great writers aren't necessarily great improv guys. Dennis Miller was great on stage but in the booth on MNF (not his fault).
Simmons is terrible on TV...I fell asleep every time he took over for Wilbon on PTI. Beta voice...better off writing

Chris Broussard is the whitest black man on TV. He could pass for any race. Minus black or asian.
