It did mean something. Without HC - the match up's changed and they don't even make it to the WCF. If you are seriously trying to argue that winning the regular season, getting the number one seed, HC and the match up's that ensued did not mean anything - cool, I just disagree.

you seem to be missing the point... the point is that none is an idiot for debating about something as untrivial as as is a WCF since the past says something different and while one team has not shown any kind of dominance the other one has been absolutely horrible.
No, you are missing the point. It's pretty ing obvious to anyone with 2 eyes and a brain who'll be in the WCF this year, barring serious injury.

That's exactly what I'm saying. That's what makes the playoffs great--you work all year for HCA and all it takes is one home loss to on your season and force you to win on the road against a superiorly talented team.

Exactly, HCA means when all it takes is one lost to lose it. Work all year to lose it in one game. Championship teams win on the road and 1st seed hasn't meant in two years.

Griffin will and moan about his touches and due to his immaturity
    Source?

will he listen to a savy vet like Hill when the chips are down? I doubt it.
"Blake’s a great kid, and I said, ‘Look man, take your time. If I learned anything, take your time,’ ” Hill said. “He wants to get back so fast.

“I said, ‘I need you in June, I don’t need you in October.’ So he’s a great kid and got a great career ahead of him, and hopefully I can share a little about the highs and the lows and the things that I’ve gone though.’’

Mo Williams will be a huge loss for them.

I think it's important for people to recognize that last sentence b/c it's a microcosm of what we've been saying this entire thread.

Let's look at the last 2 years:

The Bulls and Spurs won their respective conferences (regular season) 2 years in a row. They didn't have the best talent, but they had the best coaching and arguably the 2 best?benches in the league--which helped them mask a lot of their talent issues. Both teams had PG's as their best players too

In the playoffs, the lack of talent gets exposed by superior teams. At the end of the day Danny Green is still Danny Green.

My eyes. Griffin is a prima donna beotch. He flops, whines for calls, and if he can't dunk on you he ain't . I want to see him try to posterize D12 or better yet stop D12 from doing whatever he wants - especially since DJordan can't stop him.

    Now I KNOW you're trolling, B...
Not really. Mo is no all star but he did provide a spark to you guys last year. 13 ppg, 90% from the charity stripe, 3 apg, in about 28 mpg. This is good production on a team with a ball dominant guard like CP3.

Oh, and what is Hill suppose to say about Griffin? - the truth? Griffin is a prima donnaPERIOD.

Can't blame him anyway. A lot of the people in the NBA forum live and breathe waiting for the Lakers' next move. It's just the pull of the NBA's premier franchise.

I want to see him try to posterize D12
Can't be too hard, since CP3 did it...

Not a very good defender, though, and his cold streaks were infuriating... we had too many shooters and not enough versatility last year, tbh...

Disagree Time will tell who was wrong, tbh.

ElNono and the majority of the posters here rode the West teams during the entire playoffs, claiming Miami would struggle to defeat any West team in the Finals after beating "weak" East teams..look it up, they all reiterated these predictions throughout the post-season..
Well, it certainly wasn't a reach considering Miami got their asses handed to them by Dallas the previous season...

But that's the point. Season to season, teams change.

    btw, sup Harlem

Denver doesn't play defense and doesn't even have an all-NBA player on their team..the Clippers' and Spurs' have PGs as their best players.. none of these teams are able to display defense at a consistent level..
Well, not really true. Iguodala was actually all-nba 2nd team defense in 2011 (and All-Star last season). And that was playing with a ty team in Philly. Clippers added more size (literally) with Odom, but also Barnes is a scrappy guy. Now, it all might not pan out, but I think they're interesting pieces to dismiss outright before the season even started.

    I said darkhorse, tbh

Miami is the favorite, Lakers and Thunder are legit contenders..Celtics, Spurs and Clippers are darkhorse long shots..
I agree with Miami and OKC being favored. Not ready to hand out 'contender' tags to anybody else at this time, tbh.

IMO, Miami's bench didn't really click until the playoffs. Bosh was ailing and missed a few games. Their bench played well and it carried over in the Finals against OKC. Agreed, to an extent about the Lakers running out of gas - specifically our bigs. Bynum for being a lazy ass MFer and Pau for all of the games he played from the previous season + playoffs + Olympics. When our bigs went limp, there went our chances of getting past OKC - especially with at the time, our only true advantage being a then 32 year old Kobe trying to carry the team. Sessions the bed, Artest's stupid elbow cost us as well because he was balling right before that incident.
But they needed it. Without Mike Miller drilling those 3s, we might be talking how to beat Durant right now. Heck, OKC's downfall was actually the poor play from the bench, which they used thoroughly during the playoffs and finals (lol towelhead)

I'm not sold on the Clippers. Sure they added G Hill but being that Griffin will and moan about his touches and due to his immaturity, will he listen to a savy vet like Hill when the chips are down? I doubt it. Then I'll envoke DOK's theory: teams with PGs as their best player typically don't win championships (Detroit Pistons being one of the rare exceptions). They added Barnes (who did for us last year in the playoffs) and fatass-unfocused Lamar Odom. Mo Williams will be a huge loss for them. He was instant offense for them. And then you have their inept coaching staff. I actually trust Mike Brown more than Del Negroid (believe it or not).
Disagree about Mo Will. He was a mindless chucker and they basically replaced that with Jamal Crawford. But Nick Young was that too for them last season, and you could tell their bench was a bunch of chuckers and loons (KMart, Reggie Evans, etc). I think this is probably the best bench in the NBA right now.

tbh, Lakerfan should be the last to talk about players that and moan. Do you want me to put that "Ship his ass out" clip on full blast?

I think that the Lakers will be 2nd or 3rd seed. I don't think it is necessary to get the 1st seed. I think we will start off slow as the guys get used to playing with one another while learning a new offense (again for the 2nd straight season). We'll have our iden y by the ASG. Meanwhile, I expect teams like SA, OKC, Clippers and even Denver to be rolling while we figure it out. But make no mistake, once we begin to figure out how to use Howard and Nash with Kobe/Pau the Lakers will be a force to be reckoned with. I don't want them to peak early only to fizz out again. It's a marathon - not a sprint.
We'll see. I have the Lakeshow being in the hunt. The ceiling is definitely high, but there's also a good amount of question marks, IMO.

In 2011 they lost to an elite player in Godmode (who went on to beat Durant and LeBron). In 2012 they just lost to a better team.
