Knowing that they think they have a good perimeter they'd probably go after Nerlens Noel (which puts Asik back on the bench).
God I wish we could get a top pick, but I think Lin/Harden/Parsons/Patterson(Jones)/Asik is a good enough unit to put the Rockets right back in familiar territory (7-10th in the west).

Morey is an idiot. Harden is not a legit first option, and Lin's best case is he turns out to be an adequate Landry impersonator, which he won't be. Houston right back to being mediocre and not moving for the next five years.
Atlanta of the West tbh, except the West is so stacked they won't even be consistently in the playoffs like ATL.

Harden shot 49% from the field and 40% from 3. For a 2 that's elite. Now I get that he had two elite players drawing attention away from him but Kevin Martin and his 41% shooting cannot hold Harden's jock. Then we can talk about defense and passing.
Don't get me wrong, he's solid, but if this is what Morey thinks the best consolation prize is after Dwight, he's high.
Harden just became 23 years old this summer... he still has room to improve and become a top 10 player in the league.
This is a great move for the Rockets - the way they were build now they would suck horribly.
Now... there is room to grow.
Here's the problem I think - Harden is good enough for them to maybe sniff the 8 seed now, but with the west the way it is I think being one or two teams off the cut is more likely - are't they going to be stuck drafting late in the lottery and stagnating for the duration of Harden's deal?
...assuming they give him one, of course.
It's all downhill for Harden, unless he finds another pair of coattails to ride on.

Harden choked in the finals but now he is being underrated by many as a result. He can still created for himself and others, still score in many ways and only 23.
