- Can't shoot free throws (Dwight's always sucked at those)
- Too many egos
- No bench and not that many great role players left to sign
- Trying too hard to implement their new offense..
- Nash is a role player in this offense, he was invisible..
- They're going to Gasol too much..
- Howard lacks explosion, thus limiting his defensive ability..other than Metta, the rest of their defensive players are mediocre or worse..they won't be able to stop anybody without Howard's super athleticism..
- Their bench is still terrible..
Fixable issues?..

Fixing Howard's free throw shooting should be priority, IMO... he was abysmal tonight... he shoots 75% and it's a close game
Nash is getting abused on defense
Freethrow shooting is terrible
According to superfan Cobbler, Nash is an all world defender compared to Sessions and Fisher.
aka mask for Mike and Eddie's inability to coach.
A healthy and explosive Howard would negate some of Nash's defensive deficiencies, tbh..
Howard's defense was well below par tonight, Lakers D will struggle until he recovers his explosiveness..
No point
- If they don't, they'll get criticized for essentially ignoring the coaching staff. I'd give this some time. It's easy to blame Brown and act as if he's over thinking this, but when you have four stars of that magnitude, you want something that's equal opportunity, so that none feel slighted.
- I'd also give Howard some time. But if he can't regain full explosiveness/athleticism, then they can forget about winning a championship.
- The bench is laughable. First and foremost, they need a 3D SF. Pietrus and Richardson aren't great options, but they beat playing Jamison out of position or playing Ebanks period.
This is going to be a season long work in progress, which is why I always had them as the 3 seed and under 60 wins.
nash is a good player in a run-and-gun system but he's a terrible fit for a system like lakers, who only scored like 8pts on fast breaks tonight (including 4pts scored in garbage time), nash is neutralized playing halfcourt offense imho
found it funny Kobe got no freethrow, yeh Dwight gotta fix that n his form changed so imma guessing he gotta get use ta it. Kobe n gasol was beasting n the team was moving the ball, playing good D to start. from what it look, the team just gotta gel
like I say in the beginning, lakers gon have a slow start. This a new team, got new egos, new pick n roll players, new bench, etc etc etc. like heat play like for half a season when they formed, new laker team gon spend half the season figuring themselves out.
What be promising tho is Pau look like he exit his slump, Dwight lookin healthy n kobe was efficient. What not good is bench seemed lost n Nash dunno his role in da team I think
crofl Eddy Curry took his lunch and his money
he did aiight, not efficient but 13rbs n 6ast wit 2to n 3blks is a good sign. Pau wasn't bein a soft at least n that what been givin us trouble since 11 season
just hope they can fit into a team soon enough to steal one or two rings from miami's cabinet before kobe completely turns $-collecting mode tbh.
iunno we gotta see this team ceiling to talk bout stealing brons cookies. afta allstar we gonna know if this team finals bound. Dwight still gettin to playing form, Nash gotta adjust to runnin this team. we see if they make the projected impact they should.
imma concern over coaching because the team currently raw, it need direction n that what Nash #1 priority is
The Lakers' biggest problem is that Pau Gasol was their best player.
Of course, when Pau WAS their best player, they rang, tbh, fwiw, imo
Mike Brown turned Steve Nash into a spot up shooter. I was getting indignant for Nash especially when the Mavericks left him wide open and Peace, Kobe, et al are trying to chuck contested shots.
I mean let's get one of the best PG ever who excels at pnr and fast break sets and let's run that offense? Brown coached with Popovich during the era where it was all 4 down and pnr with Parker/Manu. Hmmm. pnr roll with Kobe or Nash along with postups to Gasol and Howard? Brown won championships with the template with the Spurs. Howard ran about a billion pnr sets with Nelson.
Brown is the Laker's problem. I don't give a how ty Nash is on defense. there is no excuse for that.
Heat has similar problem when the LB joined. No need to over-emphasize the outcome of one game. Nevertheless, as a SPURS fan, I pray Mike Brown stays with the head coach of the Lakers forever.
I knew it would come back to bite them, they have no bench what so ever.
As what I mentioned, the Lakers will find out that Howard isn't better than Bynum.
