Eat Gobbler and Lkrfan. I told you assholes months ago these pickups that you morons were drowning in your semen over were minor upgrades, at best, over the Savior and Bynum. Howard still hasn't evolved beyond apehoop and can't make freethrows even if the rim were the size of his and Kobe's ego combined. Nash is in collect-a-check mode, has the body of a 50 year old man, and still can't figure out how to run a half-court offense. You can't run. And your bench still blows supreme ass.

Prediction for the "New Look" Laterals:

55-58 wins. Western Conference Finals (not because they're any good, but because this year's Western Conference is as wide open as Kool's asshole at a gay pride parade).

Dwight pretty significant upgrade ova Bynum considering Bynum knee getting worse n I think he day to day, possibly lookin fo another surgery soon. least Howard known ta be healthy, he back problem really wasn't big issue n he still gettin into he old playing shape (10+ lbs muscle more)

DH might be sorta an upgrade over bynum in terms of durability but a healthy bynum was clearly a better fit for this team imho. DH will struggle to score w/o teammates spoon feeding him the ball and he can't hit at the freethrow line, didn't he shoot like 3-14 from the line tonight?

they were talkin bout Howard beginning to work wit a ft specialist, hope it pay off later. I think Howard a good fit fo that reason, Pau is a good passer n so is Nash and Kobe. He gon be well fed

bynum did compliment Pau better in da paint, but in the end it inevitable he gon be injured. If lakers do more pick n roll, Howard gon be a better fit

LOL Kobe has his once in a month game where he hits at a high percentage and they still get taken down on their home floor? What the is going to start happening when he reverts back to his 6-24 form?

I was actually thinking the same but wasn't sure if I was just misinterpreting. Being a sun and mav he probably hates the Lakers and is trying to destroy them from within

The more likely scenario is tha Nash is used to being the primary ball handler on every possession and loses focus/concentration when he has several possessions of barely touching the ball at all.

There were a few possessions that epitomized why his bad defense has nothing to do with his physical limitations. For example there was a Roddy 3 where he sagged off Roddy unnecessarily just to try and play free safety and then the guy he doubled found Roddy wide open. Kobe needs to get on his ass about doing that if LA wants to play good enough defense this year.

Yeah probably a fair point. Kobe gets too concerned with bringing ball up and having it in his hands as much as possible

Defence always a problem I guess

Nash is trash. He's been THE most overated player in the NBA since 2010. When you take his defense into account he's not even top 20 PG in the league. LOL 3 year contract. Dude literaly won't be able to run in 2015.

    Who overrated him around here?

Nash needs a legit backup PG ala Dragic to even have a chance at wining a series let alone a championship. Suns fans probably know all of his flaws by heart. He also needs an elite big man to mask his flaws and the Lakers have not one but two of them, so i wouldn't be too worried about Nash this coming season. They need a good backup or put the ball in Kobe's hands when he's on the bench.

the problem is not when he has the ball in his hands, but how terrible he can be on D.. He's basically the worst starting pg in the league there, and it's not really his fault, but in a league where light-quick score-first pg have become common, he really has no chance of defending... And even if they did play PnR, they still wouldnt make many points, or enough to cover the flaws anyway.. PnR teams have always had D as their priority..

I still say, Nash or Kobe/Howard pick and roll, Gasol / Howard high/low post. Gasol/Howard double screens for Kobe, and this team will be unstoppable on offense.

Nash's bad defense itself isn't why he's so detrimental, there have been countless defensive liabilities at the PG position to win a championship or go far in the playoffs (2009-2010 Fisher, Jason Williams, etc.). The random, unpredictable, stupid decisions Nash makes on defense are what makes his bad defense particularly detrimental to his team. It'd be one thing if his teammates knew he would guard his man to the best of his abilities, meaning he'd try his hardest to fight through screens and would stay home on shooters. Instead, his teammates have no idea whether or not it's gonna be a possession where he decides to play free safety and drift, or a possession where he actually stays on his man like he's supposed to. It's hard to be a consistent defensive team when one of your starters could decide that he's gonna ignore his man and go for steals on any given possession.

You just described Kobe's "roaming" defense for the last 2 seasons or so...
