Mitt scares me worse than McCain did. McCain only scared me because of Palin, but Mitt is like Jim Jones.
I don't know, man. Given Romney's statements and Ryan's straight up proposal from Congress I am not so sure of what they would do if given a mandate. I don't think that will happen but with Mitt it is so hard to determine what he intends.

All I'm saying is that it's not up to Mitt. Things like this has to go through Congress and the GOP members know that killing moderately useful handouts like that are political suicide. The next storm/hurricane/snowstorm is around the corner, and its a political backlash waiting to happen. It's not that complicated: the federal government can print $$$, states cannot.
I might be wrong, but I don't see it.
"political backlash waiting to happen."
Repugs propose and do their because there is effectively no political cost.
With the WH and Congress under Repug control, their destructive privatization obsession would be implemented.
Don't have to defund FEMA. Mismanaging it by political hacks inexperienced assholes like Chertoff and Heckuva-Job is worse. "govt IS the problem" Repugs fundamentally disrespect govt as their political toy and patronage conduit, and take no responsibility for actually governing seriously, effectively. We saw this for 8 years under dubya and head. They want people to hate government so they can kill it and cut taxes for the 1% and corps even more.

TB, why do you insist on encouraging him![]()
Character flaw tbh.![]()
I like how he's so anxious and quick to spam threads that he unintentionally derailed my thread about rape which was aimed at trolling the "Repug Bubbas" he hates so much.
Quality post ElNono. It's a minimum expectation to hope that leadership will put human safety and well being first in a disaster situation. I'm also surprised at all the folks on the right excoriating Christie for giving Obama some credit for doing his job on this. some are acting like an incarnation of Don Quixote and Sancho Panza. They played well in the sandbox when it mattered and agreed that to get things done, the key was basically deregulating. Barry himself said it.
Bout, this is what I am talking about. If you are just doing this because you think that getting your ideas rejected is an affirmation then so be it. OTOH, EN is pretty damn independent and even the board liberals do not back you or show they give you credence. i am not trying to troll you. i think some of your takes are worthwhile personally but your rhetoric and choice of sources is just getting people to just turn you off and ridicule you.
there is little difference between WC calling liberals lib s and you calling team red sycophants repugs. Choosing the most left wing sources for half of your citations is no different than choosing Fox in the same manner.
I am not trolling you here either man. I am just trying to raise the bar.
Fuzzy, GFY, that would raise the bar.
Alright. I tried just like I tried with WC. Now you get the same treatment that he gets. I just want this noted. I tried in good faith.
Like I didn't see that coming.
Good, reasoned approach with an appeal to rational discussion.![]()
Christie was Mitt's first choice for VP
One of the most tantalizing subplots of the 2012 campaign has been the curious and sometimes controversial performances of New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie. Now, campaign insiders tell POLITICO that Christie was Mitt Romney’s first choice for the Republican ticket, lending an intriguing new context to the continuing drama around the Garden State governor.
The strong internal push for Christie, and Romney’s initial instinct to pick him as his running mate, reflects how conflicted the nominee remained about choosing a running mate until the very end of the process. At least on the surface, Christie and Paul Ryan are about as opposite as two Republicans could be: a brash outsider from the Northeast versus a bookish insider from the heartland.

Christie would not stand out in Wal-Mart. He's truly a Walmart People

Question:
If Republicans are claiming that Hurricane Sandy may be the reason Obama wins, does that mean God wanted Obama??
No.
It just means God is testing how stupid his children are.

Typical Christian response...
God does something good = "God loves us!"
God does something bad = "God's testing us, but still loves us!"
Why would he need to do that?
Chances are an all powerful all knowing god already knows how stupid his children are.
exactly... heck, you would have to argue he created stupid children on purpose... psychotic god![]()
I cant explain WC, Darrin or boutons otherwise.
It must be true.![]()
