Hey the Knicks signed Rasheed right?
Seemed to work last year when we blew them out a couple of times.
This is my favourite play from McDyess:

This is when he set a concussive screen on Battier. Goto 1:10 then also watch the slow-mo replay afterwards. Brutal!
Sign him already and get rid of Blair, a great locker room presence vs. a potential cancer, and it's probably an upgrade at the fourth big position. Bonner will be ok as a 5th big that only comes in once in a while for set plays.

It's pretty amazing how much the spurs need a big right now lol. Tiago is looking horrible atm.
Dice Was Done when He left.... Im Sure he Has Fallen Off Even more now.
Id Rather See Kmart Or Eddy Curry
'Josh Smith wants OUT of Atlanta by the All-Star Break.'Time is now.
How was Dice done when he left? He was one of the players that gave it his all out there. It's not his fault Pop limited his minutes, then expected him to play a lot more minutes at the end of the season and into the playoffs. Randolph was just playing out of his mind that whole series, doesn't mean Dice totally sucked, although I will say that Dice didn't have a great overall series, but still, he played hard out there.
I think Dice was probably frustrated with how the season ended and didn't want to come back because of it.
I think Dice played well both seasons when he was coming in off the bench, but then fell off a bit when Pop started him and asked him to carry a lot bigger load. He was really good in his bench role as a third big. I still think he can be great as a third or fourth big.
Tbh if Rasheed Wallace can still play in the NBA, there's a good chance McDyess has something left to offer.
Nobody knows, and that include Spurs, in what kind of shape Dice is. In addition to that, we can all agree Spurs aren't fine with what they have at PF/C. With that being said, it's hard to be against Spurs saying to Dice that they are interested in seeing how he looks in a practice/workout. Spurs can't stand pat, they have to look at everything, even long shots.

Yeah we need some beef we are so freaking close to another ring just need to add a decent big someone better then Bonnor and Blair. Not asking for David Robinson just someone better then the B&B boys........![]()
not really breaking news but it at least rules out 1 team;
Darren Wolfson @DarrenWolfson Out-of-the-box #Twolves tweet: they're not on the list of teams Antonio McDyess has given his camp to pursue. McDyess, 38, making a comeback
No news for us Spurs fans though lol. He will require some good players or a good one and some picks for him. Bonner, Blair and Neal don't fit that bill.
The first thing Atlanta would ask for Smith would be Leonard. I wouldn't touch it. Not to mention that Smith will probably ask a massive new contract, probably close to the max. I don't think he is worth it. Let Atlanta or some other moronic franchise give him a huge contract. It will look as bad as Boozer or Amare's contract look right now.
I dunno. Amare's looks bad because he's always hurt. Boozer's looks bad because he sucks on defense. Smith is a DPOY candidate. He is actually a decent Howard defender. If he's durable, he could be the type of player that greatly increases this team's defensive potential. My only thing is that I don't think the Spurs could get him without trading Jackson (for salaries). I don't think I'd want to trade Jack for anybody after the league removed that buyout loophole.
Nor Leonard. Everyone else outside the Big Three would be up for grabs though, as well as however many picks it took if Smith agreed to an extension.
Dice could do a PJ Brown thing and join the Spurs in March. He knows the system so it wouldn't take too long to get back up to speed. Spurs only need him for 10 mins/game while Duncan/Diaw are on the bench. Together with a little small ball with SJax at PF, Dice (if he's got anything left) is a better option in the playoffs than Bonner or Blair. 15 minutes from Splitter and we'd never have to see Ginger in the playoffs.
Ah, the elusive young, athletic big - who could the Spurs afford and who would Pop trust in the playoffs?
Really? The Spurs system in 2011 was way ing different than the Spurs system in 2012.
I love Jax too, but you guys would not give him up for a player who would make us instant contenders? He could defend all of Durant, Gasol and James. He is probably the most all-around defender in the whole NBA.
It's hard. In the Trade Machine links I have posted, I always have Jack go as part of the trade. But I don't know if I could send him away. He really seems to be at home here. Having had such a tumultuous career and life, I want him to be able to retire here. If Smith would sign an extension, I would probably make that trade and hope Jack signed back for the MLE or something in the summer. But he really is one of the most important keys of the Spurs playoff chances.
Dice is extremely overrated by many Spursfans. The dude was already finished many years ago.
Old stiffs are not the answer.
Exactly.
Plus, if Splitter either get's injured or goes fetal in the playoffs again, he'd be another backup center option. That's obviously not ideal, but even at his age and having not played in over a year and a half, I'd still feel more comfortable with him having to play that role than Blair.
Speaking of playing center, outside of Duncan, he's probably still a better option to defend Howard than any other big on this team (not that that's saying much, but still). I remember a game, I believe it was three seasons ago, where Duncan got into foul trouble and he guarded Howard for much of the game and did yeoman's work.
The way to avoid Splitter going fetal is to play him 20+ minutes a night and make sure his confidence remains high.
I'd happily trade Jackson for Smith.
Tbh: Jackson + Splitter + Neal + Blair + 2 2nd rounders for Smith and Korver.
We'd be in good position to win with that trade. . .plus you never know, Smith may decide to stay for a slightly less than max deal. 26 y/o big. Not a bad replacement for Timmy when he retires. Then again, Holt probably isn't willing to go into the tax for a couple years for 2-3 more strong chances at les. Still. . .nice to think about.
Of course SA will be in a good position to win after that trade. It's pretty much a rape without lube for San Antonio.
SA 2nd rounders are worthless, I don't think they will keep S-Jax so essentially you're getting Josh Smith for a backup Center, a backup SG and a backup PF.
Not gonna happen.
Smith maybe athletic but he's got terrible basketball IQ.
