son you know absolutely nothing. I have hunted before and have killed deer before. I was also very young as a teenager before growing up and knowing any better just how childish it is. Again ... don't get me mixed up with those who are truly hunting for FOOD. I am blasting the fools who act as if it is "fun" and a "sport" and brag about how many deer they killed, how many racks they have on their walls, etc. to those people ... grow the up.
You don't know . Shooting an animal is not the same as hunting. Anyone can pull a trigger. Let's see you go out and find a specific animal, get close enough to make a clean shot with a bow and actually harvest that animal. You couldn't sneak up on a deaf bear in the winter much less stalk a buck during the rut.

agreed that bow hunting is much more skillful and something i'd like to try someday, i'm also interested in the sport of hunting a wild hog with nothing but a knife or a small spear and a couple of hunting dogs. hogs can be up to 400lbs in texas and those things can and do kill people, it takes some serious balls to hunt them that way.
The bow hunt is much harder than the hog hunt with dogs. The dogs hold the pig down while you stab it. Harrowing, but not hard. Try stalking a pig, that's hard. That's how I met Cantthinkofanything's mom.

I've spent my fair share of time hunting back then and like I mentioned above as most people get older and educate themselves, they realize just how silly and childish hunting as a "sport" truly is. now if you're stocking up your ice box with meat for your family then more power to you, but you seem to ignore me when I have stated that numerous times in here. you must be one of those guys who likes to brag about killing dem 9 points and mounting that son !

it ain't even that easy imho, if you're not quick and skillful you could lose a dog, a 300lb hog ain't no joke. i've seen video of them charging out of the brush and rushing a person only for them to quickly react and shoot it just before it reaches them and save their life by the skin of their teeth. those pigs are surprisingly agile and vicious. and if the pig squirms loose you can get bit or worse trying to stab it, you have to wrestle the hog into a safe position too. it's not as easy as it looks unless they're little hogs.

I said that I have had my fair share of hunting experiences when I was a kid and as most people get older and educated, they realize how silly it is to consider hunting a sport. I get it though. you're a big hunter and it makes you feel good attempting to justify why it is a sport. You attack those who disagree and make fun of your big macho man hunting and that also makes you feel good. I get it. I get it.
why does it have to be a sport for it to be fun/useful? i don't consider hunting, hiking, fishing, kayaking, running to be sports but i like doing it.
