It was evident in 08 and in 10. I promise you that you can find analysis of that GOP lean going back at least that far.

I'm not saying there was no leaning. I'm saying the leaning stood out much more this time around because of the smaller margins.

In 2008, the leaning was there, but with such an slamdunk election, it just didn't stand out as much.

I think it is the lowest percent ever. Minority turn out was up and young voters are less white. Obama won with only 40% of the white vote, I think.

Well, give whites credit for not voting 90+% based on skin color. Can't say that for other demographics.
