You're the one trying to save your e-rep, not me.
If you didn't care about it, you wouldn't be working so hard here.

Well, you're still here 20 minutes after saying good night disputing something I said that makes you look bad.
son because damnit ... its just fun with you! I can't lie. I absolutely love ing with you (no ). and that is real talk.
after all, for a longtime member as yourself with 71,000 post and 20 some odd post per day, I think you're the one that should worry about looking bad. well I guess maybe not for your message board reputation, but good Lord son.
23 minutes.
Chump I love you. you know you're still my boy right?
Does that help your e-rep or mine?
like I said, the bull keeps things lively.
son I believe it helps us both.
you see you're the long time, WELL RESPECTED member of Spurstalk and I respect that. I honestly do.
Now what you and others may fail to realize about me (and yes I'm going to toot my own horn) ... is that you may like my post and GET IT, or you may absolutely despise my post, but the amount of traffic and attention that I have sent to this site over the years deserves some respect. From arguing with NBA players on Twitter and linking it back to this board for extra traffic, to recruiting other members from other boards to sign up here, to taking every chance I get to talk about how this is the best sports message board out there. Its fun son.
Obama's win a big vindication for Nate Silver, king of the quants
Silver himself may have best summed up the difference between the computational underpinnings of his system and the critics who mocked it. "You may have noticed some pushback about our contention that Barack Obama is a favorite (and certainly not a lock) to be re-elected," he wrote on November 2. "I haven't come across too many analyses suggesting that Mitt Romney is the favorite. (There are exceptions.) But there are plenty of people who say that the race is a 'tossup.' What I find confounding about this is that the argument we're making is exceedingly simple. Here it is: Obama's ahead in Ohio."
And how did he know? Not through irrational belief or blind wishes. But through a painstaking analysis of every poll of the Buckeye State available to him, and 100,000 simulated elections that showed, when all was said and done, that the most crucial state in this year's election, one that Romney could not win without, was not the nailbiter many said it was, but rather a comfortable lead for the president. Score one for the quants, especially the most famous one of them of all, a statistician who is now, unquestionably not a one term celebrity, but a political prediction machine to be taken very, very seriously.
