just saw this last night. It is going to make it really hard to justify purchasing stuff at a regular store now.

I told my wife and she felt the same way.

Music to my ears. I shop via Amazon for the majority of my purchases. Wish it was happening in time for this Christmas.

Amazon is simply the new wal-mart. I make sure I don't buy anything from them because I know just how ty of a company it is (I was a manager at their warehouse in Ky) and how awful they treat lower-tier employees (associates, lol)

I realize it's a good company for the consumer, much like wal-mart, but it's also anti-labor/anti decent pay/and bullies states that are desperate for jobs into kowtowing to their demands, also much like wal-mart

However, I don't hold it against people who shop there because providing for yourself/family at low prices is paramount. I just choose to spend my money elsewhere. Those with a conscience and the means should too, imo

That is even bigger than the Wal Mart distribution center in San Marcos.

1.2 million is almost 28 acres under one roof.

I wasn't badly treated, but hourly employees were. As for being passed up, I wasn't there long enough to find out. I started looking for something better within 6 mos of being there, and bounced as soon as I got a sufficiently improved offer over what I had at the time. I'm not bitter about it or anything, just telling the truth about how they operate and why I spend my money elsewhere.

Strange, because everyone I have ever dealt with at Amazon (I am assuming they were hourly as they were just order support/phone techs) seemed to be really into their job and provided excellent service.

I agree with this. And I think most people still want to be able to compare TV's and other electronics. But will that be enough for Best Buy to stay open?

BB is now used for window shopping. You go to get a look at the TV's, compare them side by side, then your actual purchase is online.

I don't know if they still do it, but their 18 months with no interest was not a bad deal either. I think Capitol One took over HSBC though so I don't know if they kept it.

Well with same day delivery, especially to save $$$, that might not be an issue*

*not sure if same day delivery would apply to electronics or not

Then don't, there are so many options to not pay shipping on amazon....

Cool, then order from amazon and don't pay shipping. There is the super saver if you order over 25 bucks from amazon fulfillment. There is also amazon prime which gives free 2 day shipping (or $4 1 day shipping). It is free for a year for mom's or students and 40 bucks after that. Prime also gives you free amazon video's on demand...

As I said, don't want to pay shipping with amazon, then order with amazon and don't pay shipping.

Great, I offered you two options to not pay at all for shipping. One forever and one for a year.

Either way I guess it doesn't really affect me. Saving time and money aren't really for everyone.

I buy tons of on amazon personally and for my company. , last week I bought like norton sand paper rolls and 300w quartz light bulbs on amazon. UPS is cheap on the stuff I can't get free shipping on as opposed to sending a $25 an hour employee to Home depot. The price is better and the convenience factor (if you have your together and order ahead) is tons better than brick and mortar stores.

Glad to know the distribution jobs will be local.
