It will be and should be Dan IMO. If you can make a successful, high paced team with Amare, you should certainly have the tools to do it with Nash, Kobe, and two supremely athletic bigs in Pau/Dwight. I think opening it up and making Kobe a shooter and putting the ball in Nash's hands is a good thing. Plus, Dan never had any good defensive players and bigs, so having Pau/Dwight should definitely offset some of his flaws.

Will be tough to install on the fly, but he has a ton of off talent to work with.

    Hahaha:

    Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA
As Lakers ownership has been considering firing of Brown, Mike D'Antoni has been a prominent name discussed as replacement, sources tell Y!

If Woj says it then it's true.

    that would be the best

my money's on Jerry Sloan. But he's not adding any athleticism or footspeed on the perimeter.
I'd be shocked if Sloan even considered it for three reasons...

    1. He couldn't handle DWill's ego, why would he even try to babysit Kobe and Dwight?

    2. The elite PG/PF combo his system depends on plays for the team across the hall...

    3. He's a small-market kind of guy and doesn't seem like he'd be comfortable with the constant hype and drama surrounding the Lakers...

Mike D..he's more of an offensive coach than defensive..how would that help this team????? Besides the Lakers as a whole struggle to score as it is.

holy , D'Antoni coaching that team would be scary. They'd average 130 a night.

D'Antoni would help with the offense. You don't bring a guy in like Steve Nash and then make him a bit player in a half-court offense. I know it was only 1.5 games but Nash is really not nearly as good outside of 7SOL. He hadn't looked that bad since the Terry Porter days. With Dwight and Pau they have enough size and defense to protect the paint even though Pringles doesn't care about defense.

Well, while LA's offense has been decent, I think they are running it wrong based on the talent they have. Coach Dan would change that and implement the right system for that team. While defense is clearly the problem, I think Dwight not being all the way back is a big part of that which is not a system issue, plus I think the gain in offensive production will offset that some too.

Coach D has won a lot of games with his system and never had a squad like this. LA's lack of outside shooting might hurt, but Nash, Kobe, Artest, Meeks, Jamison are all capable outside shooters (Blake too). While we know defense wins championships typically, you can still go far with a high powered offense (see old Suns, new Spurs) and if Dwight gets fully healthy, their defense will improve significantly anyways.

    D'antoni

Nash will be out of the lineup all year and D'antoni will be leading the Lakers.

Um, the offense struggles because Mike Brown put in a ty godawful offense that doesn't take advantage of the talent on the roster. D'Antoni would fix that instantly. Maybe stick to posting funny gifs cuz when u actually come out with a basketball take, it's usually .

Seriously, they can bring in whoever they want to. Fact is Blake will be starting before season's end after Nash completely breaks down.

Hey let's use a ty offense that a bunch of unathletic college white guys use to control the tempo of a game. That totally works for an NBA team that has Dwight Howard and Steve Nash on it.

LA's offense has not been that bad really. Their tied for 5th in offensive efficiency, but there is still a lot of potential there to unlock as Nash has been a complete non-factor.
