Remember this game, folks. The Lakers Championship DVD will definitely feature it as the key event (other than the firing of the worst coach in NBA history) that kickstarted a historic run toward a 70 win season and a 17th NBA le.
I can envision the presentation on the DVD now.
Don Lafontaine, in his signature deep and booming voice, tells us how all looked hopeless after the Lakers' loss to the Utah Jazz. Cut to Kobe death stare. Narration continues, "A one and four start was simply unacceptable for the greatest franchise in North American sports and its greatest player."
[tight shot on Kobe death stare]
"Standards are impossibly high to live up to in a town that demands constant greatness, and Coach Mike Brown simply didn't fit the bill."
[shot of Mike Brown looking dumbfounded]
"Brown's removal proved to be the remedy the ailing Lakers needed."
[shot of a motivated Bernie Bickerstaff drawing up a play in a timeout]
"Interim coach Bernie Bickerstaff proved more than competent. Under his tenure, the Lakers went on to win 20 of their next 23 games."
[footage of various Lakers highlights. Kobe draining jumpshots. Dwight dunking. Nash passing - set to Classical Music]
"And although it seemed the Lakers found their new maestro to conduct this symphony of talent, the NBA's Grand Maestro was waiting to take the batons and walk up to the podium to once again command the orchestra he had playing the league's most beautiful music."
[brooding Classical piece as the camera pans over 11 NBA Championship rings then dissolves into a shot of Phil Jackson]
I bet the prospect of Phil Jackson returning (which will 100% happen) has you Spurfan lard sacks running to your CPAP machines (which you have because you're fat and have sleep apnea) to help the panic induced hyperventilation this is no doubt causing you.
Breathe deeply, Burrito Breaths. It's gonna be a long season for you all.
J.H.U.T.T.
NBA=Fcked.

I hate Phil but I'd love to see him return to the Lakers.
Only issue i have is that Don LaFontaine is no longer with us.
Forgot about that. We'll get Sam Shepard. He's good. Not quite as thunderous as Don, but he's got that gravelly delivery that makes you sit up and pay attention.
It's useless to make predictions and feel so so sure about them. I had no expectations in the beginning of the year because Brown was the HC. And I won't have any expectations now even with Phil Jackson.
lakers are bouncing back soon with brown gone, just drop the dead named princeton and revert to the old style tbh
They are still going to miss the playoffs tbh
it should be close tbh, a lot of teams just give up and tank with half season gone, and they wont, so they could come in at the end..
70 wins??! You're completely out of your mind
^ Won't ya please grow up and act like somebody?
WooWooWoo goes the waaaambulance..bahahahaha What a whiny lil beotch
^ I have nothing to about. I'm sitting here with the 5-4 card intact.
Thats a ..too stupid to even realize that? wow
Sorry.. what?
Bukakki eyes?
would ya please go outside and get some sun instead of hating on the spurs all day
^ I'll do it when you (or Timmy) gets a girlfriend. Equally as impossible.
