Pop after the Knicks game: "We ran out of gas. Guys busted their butts -- I'm really proud of their effort. They just didn't have enough in the tank after that road trip. Tony was exhausted. He tried to play great -- he had 12 assists and no turnovers -- but couldn't throw it in the ocean. We got tired, we definitely got tired ... Down the stretch after we got the lead, we turned into a turnover machine. Lost our momentum, gave them the momentum and lost the lead. But it started with turnovers and bad decision on some shots."

If he says they are tired then they must be tired. He's around them all day everyday.

Like he cares enough about what people think to make excuses.... lol no.

If Tony is tired at 30 after a day's rest, maybe he should just retire.

I thought Tony was young and could play extended minutes?

I guess Felton wasn't tired, tbh

Tony, I know you're tired, so get in there, drive the paint, and chuck up as many shots as you can. Tiago, you've made 13 straight points but this is Tony's time to shine.

Sounds pretty accurate to me. I mean, they looked tired in the 4th quarter.

It's one thing to ask why they were tired. That would be a good question.

But if you really would accuse Pop of lying or making false excuses...that's completely untrue.

8 games into the season with a team that has one of the deepest benches and has their superstars minutes managed more than any other group in the league is gassed.

Thanks for calling those strategic time-outs in the 4th qtr when the spurs started losing the lead. That really helped the players that were out of gas.

Thanks Pop! Those time-outs to call decent plays and replace tired/injured players with the ones that got you that lead was pure genius.
    Nice win! Oh wait....

tired my ass, they had most of the knicks neutralized on offense with the lead, untill westbrick went kobe on us with the bad shot selections...

this team does alot of stupid when they have leads, and when they give up the lead, they usually just give up the game...typical as always

TBH, this was all part of CIA Pop's plan. He has losses built into the schedule that he uses to motivate and teach the team. Didn't you know?
