my wife needs to upgrade from her iphone 4...the note 2 might be too big...might just tell her to get the DNA since s3 is about 4 months old now.
Not getting another HTC phone unless its a nexus.
its that baD?
HTC makes great phones, but my guess is that Drachen is tired with the late OS updates
I've been thinking about switching to a Nexus too, but they are a bit big for my tiny little girl hands
It is fine for regular users. , I would even go so far as to say it could be tops for a regular user. Unfortunately for me the locking of the bootloaders is an annoyance that has caused a precipitous drop in development for my evo 3d (we don't have an official CM9 or 10 yet). The process for achieving S-off is ever more complicated as well. If I choose a non-nexus device it will be a Samsung or Sony because these are the two (in reverse order) which Cyanogen has said are the most dev friendly.
Now, if HTC makes another Nexus, all bets are off and I will buy that with no second thought. I WANT an HTC device, but I don't WANT to deal with all of the bull that this entails.
1080p is useless unless it's on a TV.
I agree TBH
My buddy has a 4g LTE (4.7 inch) and I just tried it out to see how it fit in my hand. holding it in my right hand I can reach left across the screen and my thumb actually reaches about a third to a half an inch past the bezel. Then reaching to the upper left corner, on his phone I could hit an icon without adjusting my grip, but it is a stretch. I don't think I would be able to do it on a 5 inch phone.
What this taught me is that I could still text one handed with a 5 inch phone with ease, but I would need to use a second hand to hit a top icon. I think that would be doable, though for my hand size I think a 4.7-4.8 inch screen would be the best if comfort and screen real estate are equally prioritized.
Hmmm maybe I should just get her the s3....even though its already 4 months old.
are you, or she going to root it?
ive never rooted a phone....maybe i should learn.
5-inch, 1080p screen with only a 2020mAh battery seems like a recipe for disaster.
ok, then what I am saying is that HTCs are probably fine if you aren't going to root your phone.
LCD 3 = 40% better at power management than LCD 2.
S4 pro SOC = extremely power efficient.
I don't know how this will perform battery-wise, but those seem to be some mitigating factors.
hows the s3 battery? dont they use the same size? i know my nexus battery sucks ass.
7.7 Verge review:

Apparently the battery life is awful. They gave the battery a 4.
I do like that camera and that screen, but I can't have that battery life.
I immediately scroll down to battery life on reviews now :/
Good idea. I don't want to be drooling all over a phone and then they say "2.5 hours"
Good idea TBH
i guess my wife will get the older s3 instead of the new DNA..ooooooor i might trick her and get her the note2 and just say its the s3. LOL
Happy Droid DNA day!
