It makes no sense for the Lakers to get a injury prone washed up 2 guard for Gasol.
Yes. Getting rid of Bonner is a bonus, he would have no place on the Spurs with Pau (and he hasn't had much of a role this year).
Neal is a relatively easily replaceable player.
It's tough to lose Manu, but trading an aging SG for an aging PF who fits perfectly with Duncan is really a no brainer.
Not going to happen though, because as sure as the sun will rise, the Lakers always come up tops in trades.

Despite Gasol having a bad season, at least he can stay on the court. Ginobili's in a suit most of the time, these days.

Been there, done that.
By "them" I meant Lakers.
I guess you missed the part where it says "if both regain their level" you sorry excuse of a troll.
No, the Lakers don't get anything useful out of this trade at all.
Lakers GMs are smart, they knew what really kept them a contender for the last 4 years had been because of their imposing frontline. Getting rid of an important part of the frontline (Pau) without getting an important front line player back (as in the Bynum for Howard trade) is just not good business.
You have to remember the premise of this thread. Manu being Manu again, don't you think that a Manu on his level, Neal and Bonner would be useful under D'antoni's system? Specially thinking how thin their bench is right now.
With a prime Manu, what will they do with Kobe?
