Celtics down 19 with Rondo still on the floor..Rivers calls a timeout to run a play for Rondo to pick up his 10th assist and keep his streak alive..the play fails, but Rondo keeps calling simple screen plays with the catcher immediately shooting after Rondo's pass

Sorry but OP is correct. The last 2 games Rondo has plated has been pathetic attempts to keep that streak going. I hated Stockton and I'm pretty sure the Utah stat guys gave him the benefit of the doubt once or twice but no way should he tie Stockton after the past two stat pad games. And u agree with Kobe, Love ...but CP3 and LeBron does it too. Just because they stat pad for triple doubles doesn't make it any lless deplorable. Me I don't care ...but call a spade a spade.
We should have a code: You can't stat-pad for a triple double when you are losing. If you're up big or you figure in a close game, then by all means, go.
LOL at CP3 padding stats... if anything, he sacrifices stats and could probably get away with shooting MORE...

Stat padding isn't just shooting, and I have to admit he does it much less post Nola and especially after his knee injury. Non stat pg like jkidd give up the rock on the break always when its the right play ...plenty of pg hold the rock so they can get the assist. That is same .

Yeah, I realize that, but PPG is really CP3's only opportunity to pad stats and he doesn't really do that... he can get a few steals and double-digit assists practically in his sleep, tbh...
ain't padding stats, at least he doesn't jack up & brick nearly as many shots as other stat padders do
rondo is the most overrated player in the NBA imo, can dish the assists but can't do else. this fool isn't even on TP's level yet
He is an excellent defender. That by itself makes him an asset. The fact that he can pass makes him a legit starter in the NBA.
