Thomas Johnson? If that counts.
Nick Harvey just committed to Ags, one of best 2014 in state.
Thomas Johnson? If that counts.
I wouldnt count that as a recruiting battle. Just someone who decomitted from Texas and fell into A&M's lap. Too much stuff in that recruitment to call it a straight out battle between Longhorns and Aggies.
In light of last weeks shenanigans, it's definitely addition by subtraction.
McCoy will be getting the start against Kansas State. Ash still questionable with injured ribs.
And Alex King will be our backup if Ash can't go. lol
We all know Mack's best attribute is recruiting and Harvey will one of a handful of studs who will prove it's time for a change at UT. Aside from the two losses, things could not have gone more perfect for A&M in 2012 and they're riding a huge wave of momentum right now. Manziel potentially winning the Heisman only adds insult to injury and Texas won't help themselves in Manhattan this weekend against KSU. Hopefully the important decision-makers at UT recognize what's right in front of their faces.
He did not attend Michigan/Ohio State this weekend, so that's encouraging.
Texas also offered DE Za'Darius Smith of East Mississippi CC. Banquet weekend is turning into JUCO weekend with OL Desmond Harrison visiting and DE Za'Darius Smith, LB De'Vondre Campbell and S Shaquille Fluker setting up visits. FYI that Fluker is committed to Georgia but there may be some courses that he will be unable to transfer in order to enroll in the spring. If he can't work things out, he'll probably go with another school.
Recap of the job openings as of last night:
Arkansas
Auburn
Boston College
Cal
Colorado
Idaho
Kentucky
North Carolina State
Purdue
Tennessee
UTEP
Western Michigan
Mizzou is rumored to be joining that list soon.
I didn't know whether to laugh or cry when I read that quote from Mack.
The whole staff should be fired if Malcolm Brown transfers. Disgusting.
Per 24/7, OL Caleb Benenoch has decided to take an official visit to Baylor this weekend. They'll be playing OK State.
I also found it odd that Mack made this announcement at all. You don't give your opponent info on your QB and Mack always keeps injury info on lockdown. He also didn't give Ash a very good endorsement this morning as his future QB considering how politically correct he is. Dude is all over the place.
RB Jeremy Hills and LB Demarco Cobbs are done for the year after injuries against TCU.
Article from SB Nation on Mack's time coming to an end:

Updated BCS standings. Texas at #18. Kent State ranked higher (wish I was joking):
http://espn.go.com/college-football/bcs
Updated bowl projections. Texas still looking at the Cotton but that could change with a beating at Kansas State:

So people saying we will face a&m are just assuming the bowl officials will pick them over LSU or Bama? It looks like we will face Bama if Georgia wins and LSU if Bama wins. I don't see the a&m match-up happening.
Same here. According to last year's bowl payouts, A&M stands to make two million more if they go Capital One as opposed to the Cotton. I'm also not confident Texas even gets picked as a four-loss team. They surely don't deserve it and getting beat handily in Manhattan won't help their chances.

If Oklahoma goes BCS then Texas will get Cotton. Win or lose against K-State IMO. As for A&M. It depends on the Cap1. They get a pick before Cotton. Cotton won't pass up A&M though if we drop. Even if LSU is still on the table.
Some factors to look at starting with the craziest:
-Kent State. They're currently ranked #17 (need to get to #16 or higher) and they play #21 Northern Illinois in the MAC final this week. That would almost guarantee them a BCS at-large bid if they win and a chance to knock OU down to the Cotton. OU still has to beat TCU in Forth Worth anyway. Texas would then go to the Alamo or a lesser bowl.
-OK State beats Baylor and they likely pass Texas in the Big XII standings. Not that conference record always matters, but UT wouldn't be the best team available after OU and Kansas State. Would the Cotton still take Texas if they get beat badly in Manhattan?
-Capital One would be a bunch of s to pass up on the potential Heisman trophy winner and the hottest team in college football (other than Notre Dame). Better payout for A&M as well.
I agree with that. Northern Illinois is a 5 pt favorite so I'm hoping they do us all a favor and keep Kent State out of the BCS.
Another thing that I'm not sure about is if Texas beats K-State and OU beats TCU does K-State still go BCS? Or would OU now be the only team to go from the big12 knocking K-State to Cotton?
Forgot to say that Nebraska is part of the equation. They're at #12 and losing to Wisconsin in the Big 10 final basically assures Kent State a BCS berth. Flip a coin for that game as that conference is putrid.
My simple guess is OU would go Fiesta to play Oregon, K-State/OK State would go Cotton to play Alabama/LSU and Texas would go Alamo. There may be a chance Texas gets picked by the Cotton for a big road win, especially if they manage to get A&M away from the Capital One. Both OU and Kansas State losing would be a mess.
Oklahoma State might be #3 after this weekend. LSU would be great for any bowl but Im not sure Cotton Bowl (most prestigious bowl in Texas) passes on Texas vs Texas A&M (biggest game in Texas )
