Before last night's game, Jeff McD mentioned that with a win, the Spurs would set the NBA record for most road wins in a 33-game stretch with 29 (obv over multiple seasons). The Bulls went 28-4 on the road between April 1996 and February 1997, but lost their next road game.

I can't find any mention of this record anywhere now that it has been set. Do any of you think that the Inside the NBA crew will bring it up?

The bulls won chips those years so it held more weight. The spurs have been regular season champs last two years with no rings to validate any records.

It was on the NBAtv crawl last night as a note accompanying the Spurs/Magic score.

It's been mentioned on NBA TV and on inside the NBA. Big deal, Memphis is still the best team in the west record wise.

Yes, and with 5 fewer road games than the Spurs.

Yeah..it's been mentioned..its also mentioned that the mavs and bulls both won les when they went 28-5...and the also did it over one season. The spurs meanwhile, accomplished this over two separate seasons and will(most likely) not win the le. It's impressive, but not that impressive.

It's an obscure achievement. If they were approaching the record for consecutive road wins or most road wins in a single season then it would get more notice. Most road wins in a 33 game span is too trivial a piece of trivia.

On the subject of road success, the Spurs 9-1 start makes it extremely likely that they will extend their streak of winning road record for a full season.

Current streaks of above .500 road records:

    Spurs- 15
    OKC- 3
    Heat- 3
    Bulls- 2
    Pacers- 1
    Nuggs- 1
    Hawks- 1

The Spurs have clinched a winning record this month, their 82nd consecutive month with a .500+ record, the longest streak in NBA History

That's almost as impressive as Dallas' record 55 game stretch in 2007 tbh.

Should state ".500 or better". The Spurs were 8-8 in January, 2010.

Because the Spurs have played more games and have more wins, but the Grizzlies have a slightly better win % (because they've played fewer games to this point), the Grizzlies are listed first in the division, yet are a half game back.
