I agree. Southwest is a ty airline. They should have taken a private jet. That's unless you're talking about the Spurs bench.
Still don't think the spurs should tank.
It's tanking when you are winning games....tanking is when you lose on purpose in order reap the benefits that come with being a loser. If anything, they are maximizing their chances to win the games most important (division games) by doing this move and doing a small part to ensure the health of his players.
Maybe LA should do the same vs having their players complain about being worn out...

It'a a Sun Tzu thing my friend, this is a game even when you try as hard as you could with all you've got, a win might not be in the best interest for the team long term goal.
There's no guarantee the Spurs will beat the Grizz in the next game, but the odd will increase a lot with fresh starters and Kawhi around, and the Heat seems to be the favorite anyway with all the rest they had the last few days. Not to mention the phsychological sida of things, and avoiding unnecessary injuries playing with tired wheels against a strong & well rested opponent, nothing so surprising regarding Pop's decision tonite.
Pop trying to be a smartass, tbh... I'm sure some Spurfans spent a good amount of dough to go watch the game and this is a big you from the Spurs organization...
But what comes around goes around... Stern is still picking the refs during the playoffs, tbh...

tbh..if i was TNT or ESPN, i'd just not put the Spurs on national TV if they keep busting this crap. If i spent money to buy tickets to this game, i'd be pissed off.
like you don't know that when you pick spurs players in a fantasy team... big lead early = starters on the bench for 1,5 quarter, btb = starters limited minutes or DNP-old... that's the way it is
It's Spurs at Miami, I don't think many people will be pissed off, I'm guessing it's going to be mostly Miami Heat fans at game anyway

I don't really agree with Pop's approach, but I also don't think people should get worked up over it. I don't see the big deal, even for TNT and the Heat fans who bought tickets. is so trivial, people should just not give a . Pop has pretty much always been a "I don't give a what other people think or say" type of guy. He'll do what he wants. And, to be quite frank, he has the juice to be that way. If Vinnie Del Negro tried to pull that off, he's an idiot. Pop does it, and he's a genius saving his older players. Shrugs. What are you going to do?
And didn't Miami just barely squeak by Cleveland without Irving while playing all of their big guns? Wouldn't put it past the Heat to say it too and lose the game.

Sick thing is that Spurs got 3 road games last 4 days, and Miami was resting, preparing for this game. Popovich had no intension to even try win this game. Probably Spurs counted this game as L as early as schedule was prepered. Old, tired Spurs vs Champs on national TV. Pop simply wouldnt want to give crowds bloodbath. Especially when he had no one able to guard LeBron.
Epic move by Pop. And it's funny that the only ones complaining are the ones with th easy schedules. Grab a calendar check the latest Spurs games.

Spurs had more road games so far than some other teams had total games!
I live in Colorado and don't have the League Pass. Was looking forward to this one. Thanks for the pwnage, Pop.
Pisses me off when Pop does this. Yeah he's the head coach and knows whats best for his team but this is a bunch of crap. I've been watching NBA basketball for about 25 years and Pop is the only coach that has done this early in the season. I'd like to know what this Spurs team is made of...makes us look scared.
