You get it.
touting the company line:
Fran Blinebury: "Pop can't dance out of this one"
Schmitz take: NBA should suspend Popovich for no-shows
You get it.
Thinking outside the box. Couldn't Holt, Pop, etc argue with Stern and Boys? League can come down, Spurs could sue league, bring it to arbitration?
Especially if the sanctions are "substantial"
stern suspending pop makes no fkn sense, stern will come out losing since pop doesnt give a and would probably enjoy spending the suspension marinating his scrotum in wine and delivering a casket to the commissioner...fck him
Can't blame them for supporting the guy who signs their checks. Meanwhile, the great majority of writers and talking heads not employed by David Stern are taking Pop's side in this.
Brian Schmitz still butthurt about the Spurs. That's the same guy who guaranteed TD would sign in Orlando a dozen years ago. He's been writing whining articles about the Spurs ever since.
Anxiously awaiting word on this. Stern is too proud to backtrack and eat his words.
Did any of you in the DFW area listen to the Musers on the 1310 about this subject? I heard them promote the segment, but wasn't able to hear it. What did Junior say? I know he's a Spurs fan so I'm interested in his take
It's tough to come up with something that doesn't actually harm the Spurs that will also be regarded as "substantial sanctions" by any serious observer.

Look at the percentage in favor of Pop on the poll
Impressive for NBA fans.
Impressive feat by Stern, IMO. He's universally regarded as such a monumental prick that he's managed to make Gregg Popovich into a sympathetic character.
I think most NBA fans, casual or diehard, respect and like Pop.
I can't believe that I'm reading ESPN going HAM to protect Pop and the Spurs. Hollinger's article is great and all the other ones are pretty damn good.
David Stern![]()
Did Popovich, or Stern, sit those players?
http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/pos...-those-players
Apparently, according to Bayless and Smith, Pop sent our players home as a way of 'getting back at Stern and the NBA for an unfair schedule', not because he actually wanted to rest them.
It's also funny that everyone is saying that Pop should've rested them for the Magic game so that they would be able to play in the Heat game. Talk about marginalizing the Magic organization.....
Anywhere I can find Hollinger's?
lol media is loving this trying to add more flame to the fire...
fuel is the word you were looking for
and ppl still think this "league" is a compe ive sport? it's nothing more but "entertainment" and The Jew From Ruckers jumping up and down because of money lost just proved it
Tbh, Stern didn't even lose money. That's one of the weirder aspects of this hissy fit.
oh come on. his buddies at the networks probably went off on him while they were all counting money in the vault. In their world, when your buddy loses money because of you, you lose money.
Nobody lost money.
the isrealites mafia loss alot of money last night i heard, they took the LV +13.5/-13.5 LINE BET, i assume they bet the country on the heat to win -13.5pts...LOL FAIL
disagree. Stern's move was 100% financially motivated. you know like 99 out of his 100 every moves.
plus the sponsons definitely lost money on the commercials investment nobody watched
