Were pussies if we pay this . Even if its some gentlemen's agreement behind the scenes were pussies for letting it look like Stern got his way.

Fans came to see starters, not the reserves. Therefore, the reserves shouldn't even be played. In fact, fans should determine how many minutes each player should play, because they paid money, same with the networks. They should have a voting system where each $ paid represents a vote, and networks/fans should vote ahead of time how much each player should play, and what plays should be ran.

Hey, I don't pay money to see teams shoot free throws or throw up these weakass 18 footers, I want dunks and acrobatic lay ups. I want to see a pile driver along with a .... Whoops, wrong sport.

If the Heat fans had voted who would play, then they got exactly what they wanted.

this decision is very black day for the NBA, even more than the rig ref scandal, very ugly and sad to witness dictatorship...
if i'm the Spurs i'm not only appeal against the fine, i'm also demand compensation for distress and the dismissal of David Stern in the name of insanity, insincerity and incompetency!!

If the Spurs sent Bonner, Blair, Mills and De Colo home for rest, would the NBA have fined them $250k? I'm quite confident the answer is 'no'.

That said, I'm now expecting the league to send each team a list of 4 players who they are not allowed to sit on the same night. I'd love to see the lists for the Raptors, Bucks, Bobcats and Kings.

Its really caused some NBA hurt those 4 and a couple of other shoot around mates from outback Texas pushing the planets greatest team to 5 points.

    Popovich ‘disappointed’ in NBA’s sanction
Posted on December 1, 2012 at 6:46 pm by Dan McCarney

Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich said he was “disappointed” with the NBA’s $250,000 fine on his organization after the decision to send four players home prior to last Thursday’s game in Miami.

“What I do from my perspective is a coaching perspective,” he said. “I think the league operates from a business perspective, and that’s reflected in the action they took. That’s that, and we move on.”

Popovich, who has rested players for a handful of other games in recent seasons, said he did not discuss with the league office how to handle similar situations in the future, nor would he say if he will change his approach.

“I don’t have a crystal ball,” he said.

He also declined to address a potential appeal, saying any further communication between the Spurs and the NBA will remain private.

“That’s not a confirmation or anything like that,” he said. “I have no idea. It’s out of my hands.”

Classic Pop...unapologetic and jabbing at Stern even after the fine. Wouldn't expect anything less, tbh.

I think we'll know what the truth is by the Spurs' response. If they say something like "we consider this an internal matter that will be handled within blah blah blah" that will be code that Holt isn't actually paying anything. But if their press release hints at any animosity, that means they're gonna fight it.
Based on Pop's comments today, I think it ended up being a little of both.

Cuban. Pretty much expected that response from someone who doesn't really give a about the Spurs or 250k.

Cuban couldn't even keep a straight face when agreeing with Stern. By the end, he had pretty much shifted back into reality.

I agree with the fine. Pop should be fined more and suspended next time he does it.

No sitting players. Role players got overworked and look like .

If you want to rest healthy players then you limit minutes, but you still play them.

Anywho... I'm still hoping that Pop decides to appeal this BS. It is time for somebody to stand up to Stern, dammit. The NBA has become a complete joke because of that good for nothing piece of . Someone seriously needs to assassinate this fool.

I never really agreed with sitting players in previous years and don't totally agree with it now either. Having said that though, today's Buck Harvey article may have changed my mind on it a little, after all that, Buck's article may have changed my mind on it.

    Pregame:
    - Metta World Peace on Gregg Popovich’s fine. “He just should’ve said they had something. Flu-like symptoms.”
    - More from Metta on Pop: “I love that guy. He’s got a little bit of Ron Artest in him.”

That's almost as good as Ron Artest on Duncan: "I remember one time Kevin Garnett was mushing him, and shoving him in the face; and Tim Duncan didn't do anything, he didn't react. He just kicked Kevin Garnett's ass and won the damn championship. You know what I'm sayin'? That's gangsta. Everybody can show emotion, dunk on somebody, scream and be real y; but Tim Duncan is a ... he's a pimp."
