I'd have Duncan as the 3rd best player in the NBA this season, tbh..it probably won't last the duration of the season, but only Lebron and Durant have been a level ahead..

I think he's easily a Top 5 League MVP candidate. The only guys who could argue are guys like Carmelo and LeBron...

In related news, the Drz Metric shows Matt Bonner is leading the NBA in net star points.

Net Star Points = (3P%) * (1 - Rebound %)^(# of red hairs on head)

If TD can start drawing double teams again in the post then you can go ahead and pencil in #5 especially with all the good outside shooters we have. If Tiago can start doing that even better.

statistically, Duncan remains the best player per minute in the NBA this season, approached only by Lebron and Durant.

If Timmy played a consistent 34-35 minutes a game he would be in the top 3 for MVP candidates. I'm pretty sure he can play those minutes as well.

He has been amazing, but you cant say anyone is better than Lebron right now. More minutes may reduce his (duncan's) effectiveness and the fact Lebron plays so many more minutes and has to do so much for his team (even as good as they are) no way can you say someone is better than him. But duncan has been the best big ...no doubt about it.
