I'm going back and forth on this new name, from thinking "well it's not the most godawful name in the world" to "".
Frankly, I just like saying the word "Pelican"
Big ups to NO for choosing something unique.

at least they not going with spirit. it not as cliche as knights so gotta some silver lining
lakes aren't even alive or related to Los Angeles
Is Anthony Davis ever going to actually play? Or will he be an oft injured big man? Is Gordon going to suit up either? It's been so damn quite with regards to Gordon this year.
Davis could probably play now, but they aren't rushing him back because they don't want the injury to linger or get worse. I'm not sure if Gordon will ever be suiting up for the Pelicans again. If he does, it might just be for him to showcase that he is healthy and can still play so that other teams might have interest in trading for him. The latest I've heard is that he 'might' be back by the end of December. He just doesn't want to be here. I don't understand the sense of en lement that he thinks he has for someone who has never accomplished anything significant in his career.
I know Davis had that stress reaction, I just wonder if there is anyway to avoid it becoming a stress fracture/lingering issue with his size without holding him out a really long time?
With regards to Gordon, could he play now you think? Or is he still legitimately hurt? TBH, with Gordon/Davis healthy, NO would not be that terrible.
There's no doubt in my mind that Gordon could play now if he wanted. He is doing "secret" rehab in Los Angeles. How convenient that the Hornets trainers aren't able to monitor him on a daily basis so they can get the truth. When they announced that he would be out 4-8 weeks, I knew right away that it would be the maximum 8 weeks. If he comes back at the end of December, that's exactly how long it will be.
Yes, if Gordon were 100% dedicated to playing with the team, and Davis doesn't turn into an often injured big man, I agree that the Hornets would be a decent team. At this point, I hope the Hornets can trade Gordon for some draft picks.
2 young shooters for a 32 year old vagina? No thank you
You guys got a lotto pick? I think Shabazz might fall 3-6 if Noel and Zeller look good, might be able to draft him or package Rivers up for a draft n trade.
that's a steal for the 'Cans IMO. Two young shooters with bloated 4 year contracts that can't do anything besides shoot.
Pau's a perfect fit at C next to Davis. Aminu/Davis/Pau is a pretty good frontcourt. They'd be challenging for a playoff spot with that if they didn't blow their 2nd pick on Austin Rivers tbh.
Even if Pau doesn't pan out, you get salary cap relief two years earlier while getting rid of team cancer Gordon.
Ya, I don't see how you could hate on that. On one hand it's basically Pau for Ryan Anderson which is lol'able. IF Gordon plays, then maybe it looks worse, but even then it's still Pau who is the best player in the deal. Plus it rids you of a contract in Gordon you don't want (and one for Anderson who is overpaid) for a guy in Pau that helps now and could help Davis for a couple years.
Then at least throw in a draft pick to sweeten the deal. Or do the Lakers even have any draft picks left to offer, or do they owe teams from the Nash trade?
The 'Cans would prob be better off with a bunch of second round picks than a late first rounder since Dell Demps would probably just screw it up and end up owing guaranteed money to Austin Rivers 2.0
Love it!![]()
