Man what a bench we have
Spurs win! Thanks Tony Parker!
Man what a bench we have
In other news, Austin Rivers goes for 0 of 5 (fg). Who else thinks that kid's a bust?
I'm happy for Tony too.. he should pass more... he's got great talent around him
Anderson looks like he may stick
Can we just give all of Manu's shots to Gary Neal and Tony Parker from now on?
Tony (11 shots) only had 1 more shot attempt than a role player (Manu with 10 shot attempts).
Last time we tried that we got ejected in the 1st round by the Mavs... no thanks
Neal's rebounding has been pretty stout this season, IMHO. Quite a feat for a rather undersized, unathletic SG like him.
Joseph with the quadruple-double.
At this point I'd rather have Manu 2.0 have a lot of Manu's minutes. I really hope the original Manu gets his game together before the playoffs start though.
Hmm, Matt Bonnerkley with 12 rbs ??
things learned from this game
1. diaw is a sf
2. james anderson is who we thought he was before his injury
3. de colo is a pg
4. cojo is the 2nd best defender on the team
5. bonner has finally evolved into a rebounder
I really like Nando's game. He just needs to shoot the ball with confidence and try and finish some of his drives to the rim rather than dishing the ball off all the time.
Why didn't he play earlier in the game though? Why does Pop sit him out the first half and then start playing him late 3rd quarter/early 4th most of the time?
Man, a couple of the Spurs missed Tiago when he was WIDE OPEN in the last 5 minutes. It usually ended in a score anyways, so I guess it's all good. I sadly missed the comeback in the 3rd quarter, so I was surprised as that the Spurs ended the game shooting 47%, and the Bucks ended the game shooting 42%. Not nearly as seeing Bonner gobbling up every board in sight. So glad that Pop left Splitter in for the entire 4th quarter, even though he didn't pad his stats in the last few minutes like I would've liked. In the beginning of the 4th, when it counted, he straight beasted on the Bucks.
Parker just now when asked about Splitter, "Tiago Sucks" lol
Trying to get CJ and Nando both time, imo.
Maybe he thought it was wiser to go with CJ's defense against Ellis and Jennings so they don't get going early?
If that wasn't the reason then I would have went with Nando earlier.
Make him the starting power forward, quick!
While he's more likely to revert to recent form, Bonner used to be able to rebound. He seems to have just forgotten how to do it the last four years or so..
The Spurs organization obviously doesn't cover dental, so can't we afford to add another big?
Absolutely he's a bust. Austin Rivers was overrated at Duke, came out at least two years too early, and is a joke of an NBA player. In fact, he was so much of an egotist at Duke that he clashed with the coach, so coming back for his sop re season was just not going to happen. Luckily for him, he was a super-hyped player, so he got drafted really high. Obviously too high.
Shame on Demps. Dude is too good a GM to draft a shot-happy point guard who's really an undersized 2-guard. Rivers isn't quick enough and can't handle the ball well enough to play point, and he's never seen a shot he didn't like. Running that fool at point is like running Kobe Bryant at point. You can do it, but get ready to watch him shoot 30 times a night. Lastly, Rivers is a classic tweener - too short and unathletic to guard most 2-guards, and not quick enough to play PG.
Yes, a massive bust.
serious question do you think being benched had an effect on bonner to improve or are the games flukes .....
LOL YEP, those two are FAR FROM PG's in this league. I hope CJ can continue to grow.
