Ehhh... he's becoming a more confident (and better) jump-shooter, he can get boards, handle the ball, and he's a skilled passer for his position.... those skills will serve him well in the years to come as he gets better....

He's not going to be posterizing guys forever, but he knows that (which is why he's starting to model his game after Duncan), and he has a crazy work ethic, so I think he'll have a long career even after his athleticism declines...

He better keep working on some sort of jumpshot or whatnot; he should try to end his career like Kevin Willis, not Amare or Fat Kemp

I enjoy watching that Ninger. I'm sure his athleticism will fall off a cliff but I think he'll adjust somewhat. If he models his game after Duncan he'll still be able to produce.

5th among power forwards in rebounds per game
3rd among power forwards in assists per game
Better "hands rating" (ball-handling stat from 82games) than ZBo, comparable to Love
Better "passing rating" (passing stat from 82games) than ZBo and Love, comparable to Duncan

As far as his jump shot goes, his eFG% gets better every year (currently .453) and he's averaging 7.8 PPG off his jumper... he's actually scoring more PPG at a more efficient clip from jump shots than Kevin Love (.331/6.8) right now...

Not really sure why you're laughing, son...

Popovich is beginning to see a familiar foundation being laid down for the Clippers' success but laughed when he was told Blake Griffin was trying to model his game after Tim Duncan's.

"Well, when Timmy was in his prime, he jumped about that high," Popovich said, raising his index finger and thumb about an inch apart.

Everything Griffin does is a function of his unbelievable athleticism. His rebounding, scoring etc... is all because he is quicker and more athletic than everyone else. Duncan got his numbers from skill, footwork and intelligence. Duncan can barely jump and still averages 2.4 blocks, Griffin gets 0.6 despite his athleticism.

It's not an insult to say Griffin will never get close to Duncan, very few ever will. He understands the game better than Griffin ever will, because he has never had the unreal athleticism to fall back on that others have had.

Griffin will never be a great shotblocker because of his somewhat short arms, tbh....
