Gregg Popovich said it best last weekend. David Stern’s concern is business and his concern is his team. With that, Popovich moved on.

So has the $250,000. According to those in the Spurs’ front office, the check is in the mail.

I hope they paid in pennies. Or barrels of oil. Or shares of Groupon. Or Richard Jefferson jerseys.

Good. Pay the man his money, move on.

Next game against Portland on TNT, rest them again. Have them there suited up or lie about their health, doesn't really matter.

Sure - because other teams have to pay their fines but somehow the Spurs do not.

Sometimes if you want to make a point, you know you will have to pay the price. See Cuban, Mark

The NBA ignores the Halloween picture and the Spurs keep quiet regarding "restgate" and pay the fine. Done deal.

Um, as opposed to what? Stern has broad discretion to fine teams and individuals for conduct "detrimental to the NBA". There's no recourse.

    For 250K the Spurs:

    1. Improved an already effective bench, especially those players at the very end of the bench (DeColo, Joseph, and Anderson). The development of those players was advanced several weeks in one game. The Spurs have already cashed their first dividend check on that investment with the Milwaukee win.

    2. Further exposed Stern for colossal hypocrite that he is. Pop completely owned Stern's ass in provoking him into a public temper tantrum where he ominously promised "substantial sanctions". Stern couldn't deliver on that promise and has been the subject of derision as a result of his petty, ineffectual action. Pop will continue to rest players as he sees fit.

    250K is a bargain, IMO.
