To be expected. Durant's been better than Kirby for awhile now.
Nonsense. You couldn't sneeze on Durant tonight - or he'd get FTAs...

...yet Kobe scored on him and Sef leading to virtually a standoff. You'll point to rebounds, I'll point to...ASSISTS - something "Kirby" doesn't do.

Despite WB's outburst, we made more 3s and out rebounded OKC. We lost by 6 in their gym w/o 2 key players.

Someone was in Japan not watching the game. Durant's FTs were legit, while Kirby was the one you couldn't sneeze on, getting his usual 25 feet away from the basket bail out calls.

And lol at the "moral victory," claim. Lakers got skull ed from the second quarter on, until the last couple of minutes of garbage time made the score look respectable. OKC was never in danger of losing. Never.

Wow, you really go above and beyond just to find reasons to hate on Kobe... i commend you for that. That's the mark of a true hater Durant's FTs legit? That's adorable coming from spurfan

Too bad that probably wasn't your opinion during last season's WCF

If somehow the Lakers don't make the playoffs, stern will gift them the first pick in the draft as a going a way gift.
Which will then be promptly handed over to the Suns as part of the Nash trade

Most of Kirby's freethrows come as a result of him doing that little post-up shimmy move 20 feet away from the basket. I can't count how many times I've watched Bryant sent to the line for free points simply for moving his shoulders rapidly back-and-forth. I don't even know where the foul is 99 percent of the time. All I know is you better not be within six feet of him when he makes that move.

As for last year's WCF. It was called relatively well.

I actually watched this one. When Collison (scrub) is drawing "charges" on Kobe and phantom touch fouls turn into 3-point plays or a parade to the free throw line for KD, you know the small market team fix is on.

Thing is, we played to within 6 points on the road minus two key players. Say what you want about moral victories, it's a 48 minute game. Westbrook mentally checked out at halftime. Luckily for them, KD's free throw stroke was pure in the 2nd half.

This is the best OKC can play. The Lakers can play much better. The Lakers played with their 3rd string PG. No, when Nash returns, he won't provide any resistance to WB. But, WB will have to guard him and not save his energy to blitz us on offense. Nash's shooting will provide spacing for us to operate down low. Even without Pau, we out rebounded them. This despite Jamison getting manhandled by Ibaka. Nash will help Howard get off, too. Even without him he went 23/18.

Color me unimpressed by OKC, tbh.

Sorry but no matter how hard you try to spin it, you can't use the FT argument against Kobe and then say Durant's FTs are legit and expect to be taken seriously. When the majority of Durant's game consists of jumpshots.

Your blind hate for everything Lakers is making you contradict yourself.

You guys got destroyed. Final score doesn't represent how OKC thoroughly kicked the out of the Lakers the entire game.

What was unimpressive is Meeks and Duhon fluking in 14 points with 3 minutes left (aka: Garbage Time) to make the final score look like "the Lakers were in it."

Aside from the first quarter, the Lakers were never in this game.

But of course, being the moronic homer you are, you'll see any anomaly (Meeks and Duhon's fluke outburst in garbage time) as a "sign of things to come."

Let's try something different. Let's try admitting to ourselves the Lakers are simply not a very good team, healthy or not, and their ceiling is a second round beatdown.

How a team that is still starting Kobe Dwight and Artest is given the "they are still missing two of there best players" is baffling. What other team in the NBA has the luxury of that line up? Most teams are looking for 2-3 go to players filled in with solid players for their starting 5.

The Lakers supposedly have 2 of the top 5-8 players in the game (which kobe has always had btw) and its still not enough. There are no excuses for that man. Kobe is great but he really doesn't make anyone around him that much better.

    missing 2 starters..

westbrook was hitting everything, ibaka, etc.. just like i said earlier westbrook missed his first 7 shots starting the 2nd half. as well as his first 2 freethrows. u put that quarter aside, lakers had that game... a loss is a loss so what ever, but kobe had to keep them in the game and he did.. all this bs about kobe needs to be put to rest.

How you're not going to troll the Lakers when they boasted all summer and slurped all over the Nash/Dwight combo and genius Mitch and what not, only to see them turn into this fest that has them as the 5th worst team in the West with 25% of the season gone?

If it was the Spurs at 9-11 right now, we'll never hear the end of it.

Lakerfan needs to "put their big boy pants on", deal with this and hope it gets better and not worse.

How did Kobe "keep them in the game" when OKC maintained about 15 point lead throughout the second half?

Lakers were never in the game, so it's a moot point anyhow. But if we're to credit someone for "keeping the Lakers in the game" it would have to me Meeks and Duhon, for that courageous garbage time performance that made the final score respectable.

Here's how Kobe "kept them in the game."

5:13 Kobe Bryant misses 24-foot three point jumper 89-102

4:37 Kobe Bryant makes layup 91-102

    3:11 Kobe Bryant misses 17-foot jumper 93-105

    2:58 Kobe Bryant misses 8-foot jumper 93-105

1:47 Kobe Bryant misses 14-foot two point shot 98-109

1-5 until that meaningless 3 pointer.

I wasn't altogether mean. I did indeed give much credit to Chris Duhon and Jodie Meeks, who were the best 4th quarter players for the Lakers last night.

2:56 Jodie Meeks makes free throw 1 of 2 94-105
2:56 Jodie Meeks makes free throw 2 of 2 95-105

2:56 95-105 Double technical foul: Serge Ibaka and Metta World Peace
2:44 95-105 Kevin Durant misses jumper
2:43 95-105 Thunder offensive team rebound
2:40 95-107 Kevin Durant makes 10-foot two point shot (Thabo Sefolosha assists)
2:18 Chris Duhon makes 24-foot three point jumper (Dwight Howard assists) 98-107
2:01 Kobe Bryant personal foul (Kevin Durant draws the foul) 98-107
2:01 98-108 Kevin Durant makes free throw 1 of 2
2:01 98-109 Kevin Durant makes free throw 2 of 2
1:47 Kobe Bryant misses 14-foot two point shot 98-109
1:47 98-109 Kevin Durant defensive rebound
1:31 Kobe Bryant personal foul (Kevin Durant draws the foul) 98-109
1:31 98-110 Kevin Durant makes free throw 1 of 2
1:31 98-110 Kevin Durant misses free throw 2 of 2
1:31 Metta World Peace defensive rebound 98-110
1:20 Jodie Meeks makes driving layup 100-110
1:01 100-110 Kevin Durant misses three point jumper
1:00 Dwight Howard defensive rebound 100-110
0:53 Jodie Meeks makes driving layup 102-110
    0:32 102-110 Russell Westbrook misses 17-foot jumper
0:31 Dwight Howard defensive rebound 102-110
0:20 Chris Duhon makes 25-foot three point jumper (Kobe Bryant assists) 105-110
    0:20 Thunder 20 Sec. timeout
0:20 105-110 Kevin Martin enters the game for Kendrick Perkins
0:17 Kobe Bryant personal foul (Russell Westbrook draws the foul) 105-110
0:17 105-111 Russell Westbrook makes free throw 1 of 2
0:17 105-112 Russell Westbrook makes free throw 2 of 2
