It's what every GM does.
That trade would make the Lakers an insta contender. Makes no sense for the Magic, they won't even get in the playoffs with that trade.
Just overall re ed
He's joking with that trade. It's usually the kind of deals LA gets, honestly.
What are people talking about this makes LA contenders? Those ORL players are awful and losing Pau would hurt.
Lakers need speed and athleticism, Big Baby is an improvement![]()
Afflalo is also an upgrade over old Ron Ron, and Nelson would actually be a serviceable PG since Nash is likely to never play again in purple and gold anyways.
Lakers are in desperate need of a PG right now. Nelson is a solid veteran PG that can play the 2 and be the 6th man that runs the offense for the Lakers, they don't have either of those right now.
Afflalo is a more capable defender than MWP at this point, he's also a bigger threat offensively. MWP is limited to the spot up 3 and gets beat off the dribble by athletic guards.
Gasol has one foot out the door. Dude is sensitive, the system he's in has him at the 3rd option and reduced him to a mid ranged jump shooter. He's playing like Mcdyess did for the Spurs, except he makes 5 times more than what Mcdyess did.
Big Baby is an energy guy that plays off of others and crashes the boards with heart.
Lakers get younger, quicker, efficient shooters as well as upgrade on the defensive end.
no. i would take mwp over afflalo, better defender, although sometimes he puts up some interesting shots.. hes playing the best ive seen him as a laker
Metta is putting his best numbers as a Laker, but at 13ppg it doesn't say much, it's just two more points than his first season as a Laker (2nd best). He's lost a step when it comes to defense a season or two ago, and while he's still a tough guy, his lateral movement is non existent, which is to be expected from an old guy. Afflalo is simply 6 years younger. He puts similar numbers and while he never be as good defender as Metta at his peak, Metta isn't going to get any younger either.
I'd do Afflalo for MWP in a heartbeat.
