Oh please don't start with that again. He's always been known to be passive so stop it. When he does good we praise him when he does bad trade his ass.

Green actually played pretty well, I'm not sure where you comparison is coming from.
Since the UTAH game he has played some of the worst basketball (save for the Celtics game) in his career. His defense if wildly inconsistent, at times he looks capable of being competent but most of the time he looks like he a freshman on the first day of highschool. He seems to be playing zone when everyone else is in man to man. He plays off his defender by several feet and then sprints out to challenge a shot thats already halfway to the rim.
His offensive game has gotten worse. Don't be fooled by the career averages. His FG% & 3pt% are down (his 3pt% is down nearly 6% from last season), Despite playing longer stretches and more minutes. I'd take Captain Jack in a heartbeat to start.
I like Diaw being "passive." He's often the 5th best scoring option on the floor, and he makes himself useful by facilitating the ball to the better options, but still being able to knock it down when he's open enough that he's a good option.
What you call "passive," I and the Spurs call "smart."
I have the same feeling about him as I do with Bonner. He's a playoff choker who I don't trust and fear he will cost the Spurs games. If he's not defending point guards in iso plays, he's a mediocre defender. He's a 3-and-mediocre-d player the rest of the time, who fails when he tries to do too much and when his three isn't falling, watch out.

Why doesn't he shoot the damn ball? Teams just give him open looks that he makes way more complicated than they actually are.
i don't have much trust in either, but it's sad that Diaw has a lot more talent than Bonner yet is as timid, if not moreso. He's fortunate TP is his butt buddy. I figured he would play more aggressive alongside his best friend but I rarely see it.
Thats what I thought last season but this year has gotten worse. For starters he is an excellent 3pt shooter but is barely attempting 1 per game despite the fact he is nearly shooting 50% from down-town since he got here last season. He drive and kicks way to much, Its like the boy who cried wolf, If you don't shoot, no ones gonna believe that you're actually going to shoot and won't even bother guard him on the wing and wait for him to drive. Off the bench is a different story he be perfect in a 15-18 minute range by not 24 per game.
The BIG difference is that they're only paying him 4M and change, not north of 9M like RJ.
Not sure what you're expecting for 80% of the AVERAGE salary. Boris is what he is. He's really talented, but prefers a supporting role. He also cost no draft picks or players and is on a reasonable contract.

I thought Boris would have lost more weight in the off season and gotten himself into better shape. Do you think that the Spurs wanted him at this weight? I think his game would be better if he dropped more weight and he gets in better shape.
I'd put an inclusive beside Greens name. He got waived 3 times his rookie year and has since become a more than serviceable starter. He played pretty wells in the first two rounds and then his Jumper went south of the border against OKC. I think it had less to do with pressure and more to do with an untimely shooting slump.
Remember last years RRT. He started and didn't hit a shot for the first 5 games ( he went well over 100 minutes without hitting a single shot) but his season average FG% was good and his 3pt% was almost 10% better than the rest of the league. He played much better tonight than i remember him in the WCF. He is still improving and is already an above average defender and rebounds well for his position.
I like Diaw on the surface but that is it. He's fun to watch when everything is running smoothly and we need a key cog in the middle to help keep the flow of nice passing running. But I want championships. Regular season wins are great and all, but it is very disheartening to see a team that wins so often fold once it plays a tough opponent. Diaw is one of the players that folded and contributed to the loss tonight. I won't knock him for appearing disinterested because Duncan can put up 20 and 15 without any emotion, but I will knock Diaw for his lack of will on the offensive end. He's a smart player, he should know that OKC is goint to make him shoot. But just like last year, he gets all confused with the ball in his hands from 24 feet away. He proceeds to drive and try a nice pass, but his efforts are futile. The way OKC spaces the court when Diaw has the ball disallows him to make passes. They are begging him to shoot and he just won't do it. Very frustrating to watch.

I'd agree with everything you said. The thing pisses me off his he can shoot them at a high clip. in 09' he went 70-163 (41%3pt) with the 'Cats. They didn't have nearly the talent we have. But he is barely shooting 1 per game. The Miami game was his chance to be aggressive, and he was just as passive He'd get into the paint and then kick out for a 3 when he could have taken an easy layup to get guaranteed points.
Exactly, he is not a bad shooter. And I can not judge his psyche whatsoever. I'm not sure if he is doing it because he is nervous, he likes passing just way too much, or he has a certain arrogance where he feels like he can do what he wants and he will always play the way he has throughout his basketball career.
Fat guy has gotta' do what he's gotta' do; he's saving that energy for when it counts.
Actually Diaw is the ANTI-Jefferson: he disappears in the regular season and reappears during the playoffs.
I'd rather have it this way, tbh.
