I'll take an ugly win 24/7. A W is a W.![]()
Since you're utterly drooling for my attention, I'll throw you a bone and give you props for this response to a bleeding heart liberal in the Club:
That's it, though. Until you come up with an interesting and not totally re ed shtick, I'll continue to ignore you. At the moment, whitemamba has replaced you as my personal Lakerfan punching bag.those kids were sacrificed by their terrorist parents..they were put in harms way as a Taliban propaganda tool for terrorist sympathizers such as yourself
Tip: Get back to sucking Kobe's and propping up the Lakers as a force to be reckoned with (even though they suck). That aggravates me far more than you pretending that nerd in my avy is me.
Indeed you will. Not many of those in Lakerland this year, so I guess I understand your enthusiasm for a 3 game winning streak against some of the worst teams in the league. When the Spurs beat the Cats, I was pissed we let them score 100, even though we beat them by 30. Kind of standards Spurs fans have this year, while Lakers fans take any scraps they can get.
you're a joke. WTF you talking bout with standards? You don't get style points for beating somebody by more points. A W is a W.
Riddle me this: take away TP (Nash) and Patty Mills (Blake) for 20+ games. What kind of record would the Spurs have? The way you're talking, we had our whole team all year, and are still 2 games below 0.500. Take away your 1st and 2nd string point guards and you guys would be in the same boat as us. Real talk.
sixth seed expectations
No we wouldn't.
Andat your dumbass comparing Parker to a 40 year old Steve Nash who can barely play 30 minutes a game even when he's "healthy." Also, if you actually knew a thing about basketball and didn't box score watch every game, you'd know the Spurs have done just fine in the regular season when Parker misses games. In addition to that, the Spurs lose Manu (the best perimeter scorer on the team) for like 20 games every season and still do just fine. Spurs were without their entire small forward rotation for the majority of this season, as well. Doing just fine. But anytime the Lakers experience a couple of key injuries, they suck ass, since dip Mitch doesn't know how to draft and develop players into something resembling a decent bench.
And you'll still be mediocre when "the Messiah" returns.
Only hope you have of contending this year is pulling off a lopsided trade. Other than that, enjoy the 6-8th seed and a 1st/2nd round exit.
mid...it's ok you can ignore me...nothing gives me greater laughter knowing you talk all this about people and yet you're dog ugly as ...ohhhh the irony....![]()
The devolution of Lkrfan's expectations:
Pre-season:
"See you in the Finals, cHeat!"
Now:
"6th seed, here we come!"
Oh, and lol at mentioning Patty Mills missing games. There's a cadre of Spurs fans who'd love to see that happen.
That said, it's amusing to see you hype the Nash injury as if it's comparable to other teams missing their actual star players.
Scenario:
Thunder lose Westbrook for the next game against the Lakers, who are still without Nash. Lakers win the game by 1.
Lkrfan: "Now, now Thunderfans, no excuses. Yeah, you didn't have Westbrick, but we were without Steve Nash, so it was an even matchup."
Yeah, you're that re ed.
Apparently $100,365,744 only buys you the sixth seed at best in this league![]()
2011-2012 Nash with the Suns: 12.5 ppg, 10.7 apg
2012-2013 Parker: 19 ppg, 7.5 apg
Yes, I'm using Nash's Sun numbers because that is the system that he ran just last year. He got those numbers on a ty team in only about 35 mpg. This year with A'ntoni running the Lake Show, I'm expecting about 10/10. We don't need him to score. We need him to drop dimes and hit his 3s/midrange jumpers. He can do that. We don't need him to drop 20/10 like y'all need TP to do. So yeah, I'm comparing our "40-year old" to TP.
How did y'all do when he missed 20+ consecutive games? That's what I thought.
Not 20 consecutive games. Don't even trythat .
Who said anything about your starting SFs? I said, if you guys lost your 1st and 2nd string PGs for 20+ games, you guys would be in the same boat as usPERIOD. PGs run the show. They are the head of the snake. You cut that off and it increases your chance of losing.
Any team that has a couple of key injuries will take a step back. I guess the Lakers are exempt due to their payroll.![]()
Furthermore, the whole "a win is a win" mentality regarding the Lakers doesn't apply in the same way as it might to a young team on the playoff fringe who needs every bit of optimism they can get.
It's championship or bust for this season's Lakers, and right now, their fans should be more concerned with seeing the problems that have plagued the Lakers start progressing toward being corrected. These last 3 games have shown the Lakers are nowhere close to solving anything, and light years away from playing anything resembling championship basketball. This should be a cause for concern, but Lakers fans, being the re s they are, analyze things purely in terms of the won-loss column, missing the forest for the trees. The SSOL Suns had a very nice won-loss column. Didn't mean because they never corrected their major weaknesses.
- who said I'm expecting 6th seed? You guys are all jerking each other off because we are below 0.500, etc. I'm merely stating a fact that despite our horrendous start, we are in the mix for a playoff spot. All we have to do is get into the playoffs. Talk all the you want but I guarantee you no team will want to see us come playoff time.
This from a 2011 GSNF that swore up and down that the Spurs were winning it all after their 20-game win streak. Hypocrite.![]()
we all remember what happened the last time the lakers and spurs met
![]()
Not even close to my thoughts. I still have the same expectations as I had in preseason. In all of our losses, I can count on one hand ones that were blowouts. Many of them were a few botch possessions away from being Ws. These things are correctable - especially when we get our 2 best PGs back to run the show.
He missed 16 straight games in '10.
Spurs went 12-4.
Next question.
I don't watch very many Spur games. BSPN has him listed as your 2nd string PG. Whoever the your 2nd string PG is, if y'all lost him and TP you are in the same boat.
16 ain't 20+.
Who won the chip in 21
?
Does being a deluded homer ever get tiring? I mean, really, constantly having to summon up that much hope and optimism in the face of a cold, harsh reality that says otherwise must be exhausting.
I'm sure you'll ask "does being a bitter Laker hater ever get tiring." Not really, since hating is easy, natural.
I don't know how you in' do it. Guess you're hardwired to see the silver lining, the type of guy who'd tell his fellow Holocaust victims waiting in line to be thrown into the ovens, 'Don't worry. Hitler will run out of coal soon."
Nice nit-pick.
And nice deflection.
Giving up already, I see.
racist bas . WTF does Hitler have to do with anything?
To answer your question, yes, I always see the silver lining with the Lakers. Every single year, I am the ultimate optimist. We have a talented team that is underperforming. I, just like you, don't expect that to stay the same. Even if you won't admit it publicly.
