That road to a SB would make the Giants run last year look like an SEC out of conference schedule.

I pretty much agree w/ JT. They should beat Tennessee and KC, chances of them beating the Texans are slim, so it'll come down to Detroit whether or not they reach 10 wins.

Doesn't matter that much tho since 9-7 will get them a playoff birth which is damn impressive.

Notre Dame and Colts winning championships in the same season... Maybe the world really is going to explode next month so it doesn't happen

I'd also just like to go on record and say that, yes, I did used to verbally suck Peyton Manning's on this forum on an almost hourly basis... but the guy went one and done a lot in the playoffs and currently has a losing record in postseason play. If there's any team above Indy in the standings that I want in the wild card round, it's Denver.

Denver imo is the easy AFC favorite right now. Houston is the team I see losing early. Mediocre pass rush on D and a run first offense doesn't win in the NFL.

tbh I think we're looking at another Giants vs Patriots Super Bowl.

Knew that winning the division was a pipe dream but glad to see the Colts play the Texans compe ively in a game they constantly screwed themselves with penalties and Andrew Luck was getting manhandled by Watt & Friends the whole time. That's a very bright silver lining. I think the Colts can beat Houston in Indianapolis in Week 17 with or without Houston benching its first teamers for the postseason. We'll see, the Niners beating the Pats last week was a gift from God. I believe one Colts win or one Steelers loss puts Indy in the postseason, but the two WC spots are between Indy, Pit and Cincy right now so there's a very good chance the Colts get in. Amazing season to go from No. 1 draft pick to playoffs.

Definitely since Houston has never won there anyway.

If the Colts win this week, they clinch the #5 wild card spot. They actually have a 99.97% chance of still making the postseason even if they lose Week 16 and Week 17. Something like 14 different games have to play out a certain way (affects Strength of Schedule and Strength of Victory tiebreakers) and if any one of them doesn't, the Colts are in. Out of one million simulations, they missed the playoffs four times.

Its kinda crazy that the Colts could put themselves in a position to rest their starters in Week 17

JT, gonna be pulling for your team this next Sunday. They win, and the Pats win, Pats get the 2nd seed, and 1st if Broncos rest their starters.

Texans are lucky that the Colts may rest their starters next week.

However, wouldn't surprise me at all if the Colts go all out to ruin a divisional rivals homefield advantage. Texans could go from the top seed to 3rd seed if they lose next week.

Colts need to rest Luck...they are locked into the 5 seed and he's taken a beating lately. Give him and Reggie a rest, play the rest.

Don't do it, buddy. Rooting for a hated rival to help you out for postseason position can result in not getting the taste out of your mouth for a while.

Agree with this. Was looking at stats and it appeared Wayne needed 3 rec to get to 100 but those didn't account for yesterday and Wayne's got 102 on the season. Both probably play a drive and go to the bench, I'd maybe play Luck until he gets sacked which shouldn't take long, just to keep some in-game rhythm with the other receivers going. The KC game was a bad day for the Colts passing offense, dunno if you want that to be the results you got the last time you tried to pass to win a game.

I get the rhythm thing, but its not as bad as the stats make it look. Luck started with a horrific 11 of 28 passing and 135-140 yds. On his last drive he was 6/7 for 55-60 yds, a few key 3rd down conversions, and a td. The Colts have no stake in the final game, but Houston will be going all out for the #1 seed. Furthermore, Watt will be gunning for the record, and he destroyed that o-line last week. Not worth risking the franchise over imo

Right now the Colts have about as favorable a playoff path as you can ask for, no need to mess with it. Even though they'll likely be 10-pt dogs to Baltimore, it's still a winnable game b/c of the Flacco factor. After that, you get Houston who has looked sketchy at best lately. The Colts will also have had 2 recent looks at the Texans to draw from. After that it's hopeless, but the goal is to avoid Brady and Manning for as long as possible, imo. Path of least resistance, etc.

Beating the Texans in Week 17 would actually make their path harder, in addition to risking unnecessary injury.

Colts have announced they will not be resting starters against Houston, per Pagano himself. Game on, ers. Get the W and block Watt from the sacks record. Glad Patriots fans will be able to experience rooting for the ChuckStrong Colts this weekend, probably the most amazing sports story I've ever witnessed. Hope Luck pulls another GW drive out of his ass to keep the Moo Cows winless in Indiana.

Also Luck was egregiously snubbed from the Pro Bowl (should have made it over Schaub for sure) so time to shove some Pro Bowl ballots right up the asses of the people who cast them.

And now for my fan's take on this news. If that's what the Colts want to do, I'm behind the decision. This is far different from 2009 when the Colts had a veteran ball club and Bill Polian wanted to keep them healthy for the playoffs. This is a young team and they need the reps whether or not the game means anything. Going into the playoffs with a W over the Texans will indeed make their path to the Super Bowl a lot tougher as it will guarantee a meeting with Manning or Brady like DD said, but if you want to go to the Super Bowl in the AFC, you're gonna have to beat one of those guys anyway. Dropping Houston to the 3 seed means you might have to play both of them, but like I said earlier my circle jerk Colts fantasy for this year would be defeating Manning & Brady to go to the Super Bowl so it, why not.

Also I think Pagano needs to try to win this game because why even come back now if you're not trying to win. The whole year they've been playing with a "win one for Chuck" mentality. Now it's "win one with Chuck"
