Any news on the QB that will be on campus?
That. Is. HILARIOUS!!! Lol
Great way to end the year. Offense looked a hundred percent better under Major and I don't know where that defense was all year.
HOOK 'EM
Nick Marshall?
Shaggy was gold yesterday. A lot more where that came from.
det d was nowhere to be found in the first half outside okafor
okafor was also a total beast as others have said, and made himself a load of money tonight
Offense looked the same to me, and that defense got lucky their running back didn't play the 2nd half and their QB doesn't know how to throw the ball away
I thought the offense struggled a bit early but as soon as they adjusted with the hurry up things really got rolling. The play calling seemed more straight forward too...especially in the second half. Adjusting to those called runs for Ash kept the momentum rolling. There were very few, if any adjustments on offense during the regular season.
Yes, the QB for Oregon St. was balls but the whole defense seemed energized by Okafor's beasting. That pocket collapsed in a hurry on almost every pass play. The young LB's made some good reads and the DB's looked better too.
are you kidding me?? Offense was horrible, way to stay positive though.
yeah the first half on offense was just brutal outside of goodwin's run. i dunno why they kept trying to run inside, it hasn't really worked all year.
I hated the offensive play TBH. Not impressed at all for 3/4 of the game.
The defense still has problems controlling gaps and staying disciplined in the running game defense.
Ash is still just a guy. An upgrade is badly needed. He has too many stretches where he is an average or below average player. Way too many check-downs until the fourth quarter.
i agree for the most part, but the o-line is just so bad. they have to get much better
I was at the game last night. A tale of two halfs. Ash and the UT defense did come up big when it counted and credited to them.
But I was shocked at two things from Oregon State: How totally ty their QB is and how incompetent Mike Riley was. From that first totally stupid INT that kid threw, to his bad passes, holding the ball too long, etc. I bet he only threw/completed 4-5 strong passes. Second, why would Mike Riley keep him in the pocket and call deep pass routes all night long? Or, not call on screens (aside from that one TE screen that worked), shorter passes, or draws. Or, put a ing back out to help block Okafor? Or, when UT would subs ute on offense, Oregon would not sub on defense which would have slowed the pace of that UT hurryup offense. Finally, the scoreboard showed Oregon had one time out left at the end of the second quarter that the Oregon QB tried to stop the clock with a e. If that scoreboard was correct and Oregon didnt use that time out, then they missed out on a FG attempt.
Good win for UT especially in view of the very bad year they had. But keep in mind, UT beat a bunch of 2 stars and a few 3 stars with a head coach that was half brain dead.
Edit: I just went to a couple of Oregon St boards and they are also incensed with Riley. And he did waste a time out at the end of the second which would have allowed a FG attempt. Also, the Oregon fans are incensed that Riley did not pull the starting QB and replace him with the back up who has had plenty of play time.
This is the second game in two days where bad coaching occurred. The Minnesota coached went brain dead in the fourth qtr against Texas Tech helping them to a victory.

Holy does espinosa suck. That interception by Ash was his fault after letting the tackle right past him.
Espinosa is AWFUL!
I've watched him get beaten time and time again all year long. Nothing but a spare.
He's pretty bad, but not as bad a M. Thompson at Safety on defense. The guy just freezes up whenever the play could be a run or a pass. He's so slow to react and his tackling is horrible. He's a good athlete, but defense is not his thing.
you guys sure do a great job with these recruiting updates. thanks.
unfortunately this thread is over 100 pages long. Is there anyway to post a sticky at the top to show a list of updated Texas commits and decommits?

JUCO QB Nick Marshall has been offered by Texas and will be taking an official visit to Austin on January 18th. It's possible that he's being looked at as an ATH that could play in the secondary. He originally signed with Georgia out of high school as a CB.
