"The early word from the DeMarcus Cousins trade watch, according to the latest rumbles on the personnel grapevine, is that Kings co-owners Gavin

and Joe Maloof remain reluctant in the extreme to part with their young big man, especially at a time when — after three suspensions already this

season — Cousins’ trade value isn’t exactly on the upswing.

There’s a growing sense among potential suitors that under-fire Kings general manager Geoff Petrie, who has overseen zero trips to the playoffs

under five coaches in the six-plus seasons since Rick Adelman left town, would be willing to move Cousins, preferably in exchange for a

dependable veteran of quality or two who could bring some instant improvement to a franchise stuck in lottery land and still plagued by an

uncertain future in terms of where this team will be calling home in the long term….

Front-office sources say that Boston and Detroit, just to name two teams, have let it be known that they are highly interested if and when

Cousins does become available. Rest assured there will be more." -Pro Basketball Talk

The Celtics don't have a lot of trade assets but could send Courtney Lee, Jaried Sullinger and Fab Melo or a 1st Round Pick to the Kings

The Pistons could give them some cap relief possibly taking on John Salmons contract along with DMC but would likely have to give up Brandon Knight (14pts, 4.7 asts) and or Andre Drummond ( 7pts,7 rebs, 1.5 bpg in 19.5 minutes) , not sure they would do that for Cousins.

The Kings also could trade Tyreke Evans by the deadline as well.

They might be looking to clean the slate and restart their rebuilt, they are only 3 1/2 games a head of the Hornets for the worst record in the west. They may be willing to unload Thompson 5 year deal to clear the books.

The Spurs have three more games against the Kings this season

    -February 19th in Sacramento
    -March 1st In San Antonio
    -April 12th In San Antonio

Cousins and KG in practice together..... DeMarcus would be the one big man KG would actually stand up to and smack in the face, that trade isn't going to happen. He if Rondo being as ass drives out Ray Allen who is a bit thin skinned but a fairly professional ball player Cousins would be crying on the bench within 2 weeks.

Detroit probably has the best parts to make the deal I think. They could out together a package around Drummond, whom could be a nice player in a few years.

Its a tough call, Drummond has been better than expected out of the gate (even for a lottery pick) and Pairing him with Monroe makes since as an offense/defense tandem.

Cousins and Monroe would be an interesting fit but could have a higher ceiling .

I actually would give it a shot, Doc is highly liked around the league and may be better able to relate and motivate DMC than Westpaul & Smart has. Garnett will either keep him in check or alienate him from the team, Rondo appears to be just as erratic as DMC is. They need more size and DMC is a great rebounder (Boston is one of if not the worst rebounding team in the NBA) giving up Lee, who has been somewhat disappointing, Sulinger, and or a 1st rounder & Fab Melo would allow the Kings to save face with young talent and a 2nd pick in the 1st round.

It's hard to improve a bad team via trade. If you're bad, nobody wants the pieces you have to offer. Cs should have blown it all up last summer.

I think they have the pieces to get one player of the Splitter/Williams variety. They have to make that trade count.

Boston has three legitimate prospects in Bradley, Sullinger and Melo, and the former two have shown good or at least decent production already. Packaging all three would get them could bring back a $4 Million player. They really have to hope someone wants Terry or Lee. If they can find a taker, they're looking at possibly getting someone like Varejao or Millsap.

The Pistons have been very patient I don't see them taking on this head case.

They should send Cousins to the Bobcats. That's where he belongs.

They have good pieces not many but some. They didn't enter the season with a roster that was expected to be below .500, they just turned out to be bad.

The Kings are in a tough spot, keep DMC and hope that he matures mentally or have a 20pt, 10 reb, nutcase on the books for a ton of money. He is eligible for an extension after this year and I'd doubt they'd extend him.

Sulinger, Lee, Melo & a 1st rounder give the kings young talent and a second 1st rounder. Thats not a major loss on the kings considering the took him with a 5th pick.

Celtics have to trade Rondo is they want something good. There were rumors in the past saying that they were more than willing to do that.

Garnett and Pierce will retire as Celtics. Both teams may be ok with Cousins + Evans for Rondo.

The Celtics only wanted to trade Rondo for a better point guard. Unless a team is willing to give them that, there's no way they'll move him. They're too dependent on him to expect to compete without him.

If not both. They're in cap right now. Even if one would be enough, to make salaries match, they need to trade both and even Bradley to get a player like Cousins. Lee has been bad this year, and he has a four-year MLE-level deal. He's really not an attractive trading chip.

Cousins is on a rookie deal (3.8 million) moving Sullinger (1.3 million), Melo (1.25 million) & Lee (5 million), and a 1st round pick that would likely be in the the 'teens (18th possibly) Lee adds 5.25/5.45/ & 5.6 million over the next three seasons.

Cousins could end up costing them more than $10-12 million a season given his production (16.3 pts, 9.5 rpg, & 19 P.E.R)

Lee is having a bad season but could easily be moved later he has attractive skill set.
