Nice article about how Spurs offense is team oriented and on how it's related with the team having a lot of foreign players:

“It’s easy to pass the ball and move the ball when you know that somebody else is going to move it and pass to you when you’re open,” he said. “So it’s contagious in that respect – as long as you know everybody else is going to do it, there’s no reason for you to be selfish. Because when you’re open they’re going to find you.”

Any guesses on who the player is, that Pop talks about that was open all the time and didnt get the ball?

I got this from the comment section under the article.

Pop was talking about Mirza Teletovic!A guy who played major role for his club in spanish ACB league Caja Laboral.Same club Splitter came from.He played last quarter for BKN the other night against SAS and didn’t get the ball from Tayshaun Taylor, who was supposed to be their PG!Teletovic was wide open several times, while Taylor was dribbling the whole possession!

Even if it could be Vesely or Claver, Teletovic is likely the player Pop is talking about. What's weird is that Teletovic is himself quite a ballhog.

I find it interesting how he brings up non-native players and sports academies then lumps duncan into that group. 1. Duncan is from the U.S. Virgin Islands, he could run for president and there would be less question about his eligibility than that of John McCain. 2. I seriously doubt there is a world class basketball sports academy there as unlike much of the rest of the world it doesn't have a series of pro and semi pro leagues set-up. 3. The whole population of the Virgin Islands is under half a million.

Could be Splitter when Neal was running the PnR

I remember lots of times when Splitter didn't get the ball when he was open, especially on the P&R. We have some players who really aren't good passers (Jackson, Neal, Green, Bonner, etc. to bigs like Splitter. For that matter, neither is Parker.

But Ginobilli and De Colo know how to thread the needle and get the ball into the hands of our bigs like Splitter. I love to watch Manu make those impossible passes through defenders legs or whatever.
