You aren't tanking now?
Yes
No
it's a ty draft class I know but this team is only good enough for the 9th seed if we go for it..
true, where is that option.
Only against the Spurs, it seems.![]()
Tank for what? So your team can pay a ty draft pick more?
So why are the mavs struggling? I thought they got dirk back? JJ Barea, J.C. Butler and Tyson Chandler that big of a loss?
Kidd and Terry are even bigger losses
Ok, forgot about those. I did remember Caron Butler....you quoted me before I added that. Hmm, I guess they were dumping salary to try and get D. Howard and it back fired??
Terry was for cap reasons
After they missed out on DWill, Kidd chose to re-sign with the Mavs AND THEN went back on his word and signed with NY.
^^^I see, thanks. So you are an OKC Thunder/supersonic fan?
Sonics fan that is currently wagoning the Spurs
sorry to bug you but why wouldn't you be a thunder fan?
I guess it's like an oiler fan that hates the ans/bud adams?
I thought this thread was about the Lakers.
Mavs shouldn't tank just because they're essentially tanking just by playing. They are bad this year.
No fricken way I'd cheer for them. We're probably getting a new team in 5 years or so, so to with Durant and Collison, the sonics originals.
I see. Cool. Btw, I once played a pickup game with your bad ass Rain Man Shawn Kemp, here in West Houston 24 hr fitness - 3-4 yrs ago. Later
Of course they should. Cuban would never admit it, but Triple-D was never the full reason behind the gutting of the team. The Mavericks were hemorrhaging money, and while Cuban was okay with that if it gave the team a chance to win, the other owners were not. If Triple-D had happened, that would have opened up a lot of ad revenue, which would have been able to pay for the roster and tax bills. But it was no small consolation that Dallas is saving a ton of money right now. Cuban may not like losing, but his pocketbook probably does.
What Dallas needs to do is tell Dirk that they are going to make one last serious run at acquiring free agents this summer. If that doesn't work, Dallas should ask Dirk if he really wants to stay there knowing that what's going on this season is going to be the norm for a few more years. If he says he wants to stay, the Mavericks can let him go out gracefully, using their cap room to make smart trades they set them up for a full-on rebuild when Dirk retires. If he wants to move on, they should trade him wherever he wants to go and tank like they're in Charlotte.
Players like Mayo can be great pieces on a tanking team: A team with him as a first option isn't winning anything, but he can definitely help rookies along and be a complementary piece if Dallas manages to get another superstar down the road.
What's this "tanking" that you speak of?
13-22
