What I would like to ask the SEAL is if he felt that the guns that are not currently banned could stop him and his units if they decided they wanted to go Pol Pott. Personally I think an infantry battalion would ass rape the m>s of this world. Unless we start allowing citizenry heavy equipment like APC, tanks, attack helicopters, jets, helicopters, etc we are at the mercy of the US armed forces. They happen to be the best equipped, trained and experienced fighting force on this planet.
And I also find it troubling that he would intimate that US soldiers would be that insubordinate. It should be noted that the FFA gun laws are not being put out by law enforcement or pentagon brass. After the Ft. Hood muslim rampage, it was a GOP senator that proposed legislation that prohibited commanders from asking their soldiers about private weapons when they were trying to assess the security situation post massacure. Your commander can get up in your ass about not paying your bills but he cannot ask you if you own a gun?
I am noticing a disturbing trend bakc towards vietnam era meddling in military affairs. Between ignoring brass equipment recommendations that would save the US taxpayer and undermining our commanders autority over their subordinates I find it troubling indeed.
