Nah, they should go back to their best uniforms: the ones they wore in their glory days of the late 70s through the Xavier McDaniel era and onto Paytons first couple of years:

Apparently, meth leads to some serious butthurt.
Meth's cheap enough that doesn't have to happen. Now for what it costs to keep a coke habit going? Different story.

Serious question, if the Kings do change their names and colors back to the Sonics, what happens to the Kings' records? Will this be a similar situation to Cleveland Browns excluding the expansion team aspect?
Idgaf about Sacramento or KC - i'm from Rochester and I would love for my city to somehow get its hands on the Royals NBA Championship banners and trophy's. People forget... WE lost OUR team FIRST!!! :P

No. Horry's shot hurt (a lot), but it was Webber's knee imploding during the Dallas series that really did the team in. There were a few flashes of hope after that moment, but the team hasn't been the same since. Close as the Kings ever came to a le, with feelings of certainty (misguided or not) that it'd have been ours if not for Webber's injury, which got all of the front office fixated on the fact the team had a window and that it was closing rapidly. From that moment on, every single move the team has made (trading Webber, ditching Adelman, etc.) has been motivated almost completely by desperation. A drive to continually just barely slide into the playoffs stalled what should have been a proper rebuild for long enough to let the team turn into a joke.
Sadly, the same could be said for Phoenix - the window started shrinking, desparation moves began, putting off the rebuild, trying to slide in, and now look at us. Heh. I think you could even go word for word... "Horry's shot hurt (a lot) ...

    grr.

100% they would have left to New Orleans. The 98 arena vote when down in flames and the 99 vote was likely the city's last chance, so it really pissed me off the way the city tried to tack all kinds of extra crap onto their proposal, forcing the team to go with the county proposal and play in the middle of the ing ghetto.

Downtown SA lost a lot of ing money thanks to the incompetent city government. About the only thing you can do in the area now after a game is go pick up a hooker or a 20 rock, whereas downtown it would have been great for restaurants and bars.
One of the stupidest decisions made by this city tbh. Was probably spearheaded by the then District 2 city council member imo, I took a political science class that was taught by Sheila McNeil (also a former councilwoman from that same district)...and she would always go on tangents on how hard they fought to get the AT&T Center and how great it was for the east side. One day I asked her if the city wouldnt have benefited more if it had been downtown, her response was a simple no without an explanation. Typical black more worried about the black movement and looking out for her own rather than looking out for the citys best interests tbh.

Congratulations on your first ever NBA take. Always found it strange you post on multiple sports message boards and never talk sports.

Heard on Sacramento radio last night that a deal was "not close", so the $525 mil deal sounds a little fishy.

Yes, all indications are they will resurrect the Sonics name, colors and history.

Sonics fans will never again be allowed to complain about the Thunder management stealing their team. They've got the blood of their own stolen franchise on their hands.

Maybe the Kings will return to Sacramento some day if the NBA expands.

The irony of that is just .

I can't imagine the NBA not being in Sacramento. Just a decade ago, the city fielded some of the most exciting basketball with C-Webb, Divacs, Bibby, to name a few.

Congrats to the lone supersonic fan on this forum and all around if you see this post. I will be looking forward to the NBA's inevitable move to make it a rivalry between Seattle and OKC.

The NBA needs to stop forcing this Hornets in New Orleans thing and send them to Sacramento or something. New Orleans isn't going to support that team.

Sacramento is making another attempt to keep the Kings: http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/88...cramento-kings

"We were there two years ago and we prevailed," Johnson said. "We have a very compelling case."
They're trying to put together a $400 Million package of investors. Maybe they should just pull a Green Bay.

I hope Sacramento can keep them. Seattle had their chances and repeatedly refused to build the Sonics a new arena, so I have no sympathy for them.
