"The neuropathologists each examined tissue samples from three different unidentified brains. The official, unanimous diagnosis of Mr. Seau’s brain was a 'multi-focal tauopathy consistent with a diagnosis of chronic traumatic encephalopathy,' the NIH said in its statement. "In addition, there was a very small region in the left frontal lobe of the brain with evidence of scarring that is consistent with a small, old, traumatic brain injury."The type of findings seen in Mr. Seau’s brain have been recently reported in autopsies of individuals with exposure to repe ive head injury, including professional and amateur athletes who played contact sports, individuals with multiple concussions, and veterans exposed to blast injury and other trauma. The lawsuit will only get bigger and bigger."We appreciate the Seau family’s cooperation with the National Ins utes of Health," the NFL said in a statement in response to the diagnosis. "The finding underscores the recognized need for additional research to accelerate a fuller understanding of CTE. The NFL, both directly and in partnership with the NIH, Centers for Disease Control and other leading organizations, is committed to supporting a wide range of independent medical and scientific research that will both address CTE and promote the long-term health and safety of athletes at all levels. The NFL clubs have already committed a $30 million research grant to the NIH, and we look forward to making decisions soon with the NFL Players Association on the investment of $100 million for medical research that is committed in the Collective Bargaining Agreement. We have work to do, and we’re doing it."
yup, kiss the current NFL goodbye
A guy who played LB in the NFL for 15 years has CTE?![]()
No .... all the journalists screaming "WAIT NOW, WE CAN'T JUMP TO CONCLUSIONS ON THIS CTE THING!" were re ed then and are even more re ed now, tbh....
God damnit, this got irritated me when he was playing and he's even more ing annoying now that he's dead. Just put one between your eyes like every other self respecting suicide "victim" and don't with our favorite sport.....
"But....but....but, he got brain damage cause of football"....
Risk/reward, if you wanna make millions playing a game, prepare to knock some years off your life and walk around with a headache for a while..... !
Youre a dumbass tbh.
And stupid mother ers like yourself will continue on being concerned for the feelings of a bunch of millionaire children who wouldn't piss on you if were on fire.
I love that you think johnsmith on spurstalk.com is too insensitive towards the plight of Junior Seau's difficult life for your gaping vagina to handle.
Clown.
The same could be said about your favorite sport which is made up of a bunch of millionaire players that dont give a about you. Yet youre angry at a dead man because youre too worried about preserving that game. Makes you look real cool on ST, tbh. I know the more insensitive you are the more ST cred you get etc etc.![]()
. Love how the got that's constantly trying to stand up for his "e rep" is accusing others of trying to act cool on this site.
Tell me clown, how has seau's cowardly suicide affected your life? Did it really hit home for you since your chubby Hispanic mother killed herself out of shame from creating a got like you?
I dont have or care for an e-rep tbh.
And no it actually has to do with the fact that Im civilized enough to not put more importance on a sport than on a mans life, or quality of other peoples lives. But I dont believe youre that re ed, I know its part of your little hardass act on ST. Calling a dead man a got makes you look real badass on here.![]()
Has any ex-football player NOT been diagnosed with CTE? Is that even possible?
