yes. i too am waiting.
i'm also tired of hearing about people calling kobe old and slow, or anything like that. i'm not saying he deserves more rings, or more calls...but all i know is this: he is STILL probably the best player in the league. he's not the most athletic, the fastest. but he's still better than durant, melo, and lebron. just minus the hype.
and that's lost on most fans. he's probably retiring soon, maybe next year. i hope durant or irivng or someone can become really good without a lot of hype and "help" from the refs. if you heard jvg, it's true...a lot of bad teams in the league. been diluted for a while, getting worse. and it doesn't help that the vast majority of fans cannot really tell who is good or not, and are afraid to debunk the hype the media throws around. |
Some players are really overrated in this league. The fans who buy the media hype give these guys their shine and their big contracts + endorsements. The league might seem better from 06, but quite frankly it's gotten a lot worse. the days of T-Mac,Prime Nash, prime Spurs, prime Kobe,Shaq and Wade in Miami, Dirk balling in Dallas were a lot better/more entertaining than this new era of monkeyballing and chucking up jumper after jumper.
Guys like Lebron and KD are keeping this league alive, take those two out + Kobe retires and who are the people going to watch? The talent level is pretty weak considering guys like Blake Griffin and Roy Hibbert have been all-stars.
