LJ, do you know who to ask if he's going to travel with the team for the ATL and PHI games? should I contact McDonald () about that?
This is about the best news we could hope for regarding Manu Ginobili's injury. Hamstrings can be serious (see TJ Ford missing seven weeks with one last year) so a Grade 1 that will keep him out 10-14 days is great news. The Rodeo Road Trip starts in three weeks, so he should be back for that barring a setback.
Looking at the schedule, the earliest he could be back would be the 25th against Dallas. That would cause him to miss only five games. The much more likely scenario is he sits out until the Bobcats game on Jan. 30. That will give him more than two weeks off and he'll only have to miss two additional games. If he comes back for that game, he'll get two home games before the Spurs head out on the Rodeo Road Trip.
Not bad![]()

Are you going to the Philly game?
Still sucks though. At least it's a low grade injury. Got some tough upcoming games and I hope Green and Neal can come through.
Hopefully his conditioning won't suffer too much but two weeks isn't too bad, like you said, with TJ's injury last season I was worried Manu might miss significant time especially considering he's Manu and Pop is extremely cautious with him
No one would know right now, probably not even Manu himself. They'll ask him when the time comes if he wants to go. If he says yes, then he'll have to get clearance by the doctor (they usually say yes unless there is too much swelling and they don't want the player to fly). Another holdup could be the trainers putting him on some type of underwater treadmill regimen or something like that to build strength before his return.
I'd say it's probably 50/50 right now. If it's truly minor and just something he has to wait out, he'll probably go. But, yeah, I don't think anyone will know that until that game on the 18th against the Warriors.
yes, need a ride? I'm driving from Jersey and have 2 seats available. PM me if you do.
Well, I'm gonna go see my Spurs anyways, just that if Manu is going to be around I probably will go a lot earlier. Thanks.
Tbh, we should probably sit him until early April. Why risk injury when it's the regular season? We should just sit him and Timmy until then and turn them lose in the playoffs.
I wonder what Stern would do if Pop actually decided to make Manu and Timmy inactive until early April. That would be hilarious! That was the real reason we acquired Aron Baynes, you know?
Not bad. It's the best we could hope for. Luckily the schedule won't be too difficult while he's out.

The counter disappeared with the new version.
Give me a few minutes to delete some stuff and try again.
no prob
I figure Pop, not his injury, will keep him out 6 weeks, then it will take 6 weeks for Manu to reach cruising speed, game shape, so Manu may be making his best contribution about mid April.
Thanks for the update. This one is not nagging I just hope he doesn't get rattled mentally with it as he was looking gr8 again.
Good news. He should be rested and ready to go for the RRT.
hurt again
trade him before trade deadline
impossible. Nobody wants an injury prone old SG. Unless we want their trash back.
Patience, ducks. Nobody plays forever. Manu eventually will retire.
Great news really. About the best case scenario, thanks!
Poor hater, he will be depressed once again after de 30th . . .
Poor ducks, there is no cure for stupidity . . .
you know things are bad when ducks is the voice of reason in here![]()
GREAT news! And it also helps that they don't play many games in the next 10-14 days....
You know things are bad when people think of you as "Ducks lite . . . "
