The Grizzlies have been struggling in the new year and got blown out to a Paul-less Clipper team as well as a bad Mavericks team the night after they beat us.

The Spurs will be without Manu, but this is the time for Gary Neal to make up for it in the scoring department (while playing his natural position).

This ought to be a good one

Seriously, despite winning against GSW and Spurs this month, this Grizzlies really look unmotivated..It all started with the trade talks. It's hard to play knowing that your team is a legit contender but your team rather go under luxuary tax than to give it just one more shot.

I'm only interested in the rebounding, this game. I wanna see how Tiago and Tim go against the Grizzles front line.

All the turnover prone Spurs have to do is limit turnovers vs the best team at forcing turnovers in the league
    looking at you timmy duncan

Grizz seem to hate the spurs and always get up to play them
they made this game thread 2 days ago on memphis boards

This is one of those teams where the refs have a really big say in who wins.

If the game starts the way it did in Memphis - with TD,Tiago and Parker getting hacked at will and instead of calling the fouls the refs let them play- it will result in turnovers for the spurs and the "tougher" grizz will have a greater chance of winning.

If the game is called tight in the beginning and the Spurs get their rhythm and the home crowd gets into it - the Spurs can get their offense to hum nicely and cruise to a win.

What's the point of starting Green when Manu is out? Isn't the whole point of him starting to be able to bring Manu off the bench, so if there's no Manu on the bench, what prevents the not-so-mad scientist to experiment, I'd be very interested in how a KY Boris combo at the 2 and 3 would do...

It's pretty clear to me that the twin tower could use an extra playmaker to work better, and that playmaker doesn't have to be Manu...

Tim didn't need to be touched to turn the ball over in the last game if we're being honest.

The Memphis starters have two guys in the top ten steal category in the league this season. People are really going to have to be super careful, but it can be done.

Mike Monroe's column in today's local paper had a statement in there that Tony Parker's season averages this year are better than any guards in nba history with the exception of Larry Bird. Tony is averaging 19+ ppg, 7+assists, over 51+% fg average, and over 42% from three point range. Those numbers are comparable to only Larry Bird, if Tony can keep them up. And let's face it, Tony doesn't probably play as many minutes as Bird did in his day.

Given that level of play I am amazed that Tony doesn't get any more respect from referees in this league than he does. If Kobe got hacked the way that Tony is hacked virtually every game, he would live at the foul line and the games would last 4 hours apiece. I am not saying that Tony is as good as Kobe; I am saying that he deserves more respect than he gets, and his stats show that.

This is one of those rare games in an NBA season where two of the best teams in the league come in with equal motivation and at least one day rest. In other words, this is one of the biggest games of the season. I realize it's technically still just one of eighty-two and Ginobili is not playing, but I'd go so far as to say we'll learn a good amount about this team and where they're headed after this game.

I don't care about this being the start of three and four, this has got to be a max minutes (40 for Parker, 38 for Duncan, etc.) game, if necessary.

True, but they could also see this as one last hurrah with their current cast. I'm sure they'll be emotionally fired up to play the Spurs too. I hope the Spurs can bring energy too.

Payback's a . Hopefully the Spurs come out with some fire. TD has to have a good game along with TP in order for the Spurs to have a shot to win this game....

Is anyone else getting the Mavs game on FSSWHD? I got the pregame show on regular FSSW, though.

And why the do they spend the pregame show reading random tweets? If I wanted to read tweets, I'd go on Twitter, tbh.
