The Heat should be focused on luring Antonio McDyess as a midseason pickup — in the same way as P.J. Brown came out of retirement to help the Celtics win the 2007-08 championship — or on picking up a big man who has been waived after the trade deadline. Otherwise, they shouldn’t trade any of the assets that helped them win the championship last season.

    Ian Thomsen/SI
Spurs should see where McDyess is at if they cant get another player and if he can play they should get him and let Blair go before a team like the Heat do. Spurs would be OK.

For what? To take minutes away from Splitter again? To watch PFs scoring 30-40 points against us?

Baynes is our 15th man, we don't have roster space.

Would be happy so see him get a ring as a role player though. Seemed like a great pro when he was here.

So the point of getting him again, would be for him to take Blair's place but in hopes of him being more productive w/ just Blair's minutes?

I wouldn't mind seeing this move if Diaw was moved to backup point guard/small forward combo.

dice is the reason we have so many blair haters ........... posters blame blair 4 dices failures ........ dice replacing blair in 09-10 10-11 was a mistake the results prove that .......... dice is a horrible defender ........

No but I wouldn't mind if they took a look at Kmart. Anyway, the Baynes signing makes all this FA talk irrelevant - I don't see the Spurs adding more salary unless Blair is moved.

It's not so much the salary, although that is an issue. The Spurs are at 15 roster spots. There is no room at the inn.

Dice as a 5-10 min backup is good
solid post defender with a good mid range shot

only problem is we would have to get blair/bonner/neal off the team
neal wont be salary dumped or traded for a pick
dont know who would take bonner/blair at this point

Dice is a better defender than Blair but I do agree the starting lineup shuffle was a mistake.

Maybe a good move if Dice in shape. But with baynes coming, Spurs better wait for somebody like Tyrus Thomas waive by Bobcats

    McNugget? Umm, no?

Let Baynes suit up and see what's up for grabs when the trade deadline comes and goes and people are being waived left right n centre.

Not this again. First it was Finley, now Dice. How can these retired vets be expected to jump off the couch and return to the NBA and be even solid role players - when they've not played a lick all season? For any reputable sports publication to bring up such a proposition is straight nonsense. It's an absolutely foolish proposal for any team to consider. What's next Allen Iverson, Jayson Williams or how about Glenn Robinson? Let the old guys stay retired.

There is a reason why Finley is not getting calls now at all nor Dyess is back! Believe me there is good reason they are not jumping at the opportunity to sign them lol.

Spurs should only be looking at Dice in a rear-view mirror.
