how's the fishing there? looks badass, i'd love to have property there on the river.
Pretty fine fishing for medium bass and sunfish; growing up I caught a ton of catfish in the deeper areas, but haven't been as lucky recently. Our neighbor is a of a fly fisher, if thats your bag.

thinking of getting another puppy soon, my bullmastiff is too stubborn/ headed doesnt listen and since he's 9 and won't be around forever i figure i want something more trainable this time around. must be a capable guard, affectionate, loyal, and trainable/smart. don't really care about grooming, i'll do the work if i have to as long as it listens and doesn't act like a in the house. something that will be good outdoors most of the day in a large yard and indoors at night so basically in and out. ability to withstand heat not an issue (yes i actually custom built a doghouse with a small window unit in it) so what say you?

oh and probably getting a girl this time tbh imo

all trolling aside it irks me that people who can barely afford to care for themselves would even entertain the idea of getting a dog. Let it go Mavs>Spurs you claim to have a bullmastiff but given your penchant for regularly eating at Burger King and barely getting a job I seriously doubt you can afford food for a dog like that... let alone a vet bill. You are truly a piece of work...I wonder how many dogs with a bullet in their head are buried in your back yard because they got sick...there's a special place in hades for you... ing loser

i appreciate your serious input but ive got to think that you just posted that for the energetic/taking them on jogs bit tbh. those dogs are too small for what i'm looking for imho, kind of leaning towards a german shepherd as TSA said pitbulls aren't good guards and i'm looking for a good guard.
Everything you do is built on fear. Now need a guard dog.

Absolutely not true, I've always been a dog person and had a thing for the larger working breeds, of all the qualities I listed that im looking for only one was about guarding. Also want one I can jog with tbh.

I still say pitbulls are very loving animals and loyal as to their owners. Maybe not THE smartest working breed or anything, but serve as decent guard dogs since people believe all pitbulls are 4-legged agents of terror.

The bad rep that Pitbulls get is frustrating, like you said, they are very loving and extremely loyal.

Yeah, when Pitbulls are bred and raised by someone like Mike Vick then they become mean spirited killers. The same would happen if Mike Vick raised a German Sheperd to win him money in fights.

Labs are some of the greatest dogs out there. But a dog that has not been mentioned yet, and too often gets a bad rap is the rottweiler. I've had a couple throughout my life, and find them to be more loyal than my labs and not as aggressive as you might think. Not to say that my rottie isn't different than my labs. If he doesn't know you, he would rather smell you before you put his hand on him but he has never bit anyone. If you pour attention, exercise, love, and affection into any breed of dog, they can be great dogs as long as they are not inbred.

I always wanted a German Shepherd, but the ones I've known personally tended to be unhealthy---due to inbreeding I suppose. 9 years ago I got a 3/4 Doberman, 1/4 shepherd mix that has been the best dog in the world! He is healthy (we run 2 miles 5 days a week and 5 miles one weekend day), VERY smart, well behaved, friendly and protective of our family.

I've had nothing but good experiences with Rotts, unfortunately a family friend of mine has not. She had one for about 7 years and one day it actually attacked her; weirdest thing, but I've heard of Dobermans doing the same thing. It was quite the brutal attack, she had to have plastic surgery on her face to repair some of the damages.

catahoulas....look them up. They are an indian dog breed, so if you're pretending to be a native american again these will be right up your alley! Seriously though, awesome dogs who can be trained to hunt ANYTHING in north america. Also excellent guard dogs who are instinctively su ious of strangers.

top pic is my 3 year old male, about 90lbs

I have a Rottweiler and she's one of the sweetest dogs I've had. Not the brightest and very aloof, she still think she's a puppy even though she's approaching ten years old. When strangers meet her, they're initially scared of her due to their reputation but she gets along with them just fine and they find out how sweet Rottweilers can be.

On the other hand, I had a German Shepherd and she was mean as . Very protective dog and not sociable at all with other people besides our family and not sociable with other dogs. Some dogs can be total loners and not meant to be with other dogs is what I've come to notice.

It's true to an extent, tbh..

My GS loves other dogs, but it takes him 30 mins-an hour to warm up to most people..he also hates drug addicts(coke/pills) and relentlessly barks at them, we've noticed..

My girl takes care of her friend's Rotti every few weeks, and while the dog is nice, he's very whiny(like a lot of bully breeds) and kind of dumb, tbh..

Holy , I was just about to post that. My brother owned one, most loyal dog I ever saw. For a guy without much experience with dogs he was able to train his pretty easily. Needs a good amount of exercise, but that will true of any breed big and intelligent enough to make an ideal guard dog. Such a good dog that his friends got one from the same rescue outfit. They had a daughter who was about one at the time. The dog was totally gentle and patient with her no matter how grabby or bothersome she got, and absolutely did not around with any strangers who took an interest in that baby.
