Irving has all the tools to become the next Derrick Rose (less athleticism but more skill). Right now, he's still really bad at defense so I can't rate him over TP, Westbrook or even Curry. But it's only a matter of time before he passes those three. By this time next year, the best PG in the league should be a three-man race between CP3, Rose (assuming he comes back 90%+ of what he was) and Irving.
Is Westbrook that good defensively? I'll still take Kyrie because he won't hero ball my team out of a game. Dude is getting it done. If he had the calls they do in Oklawhistle City, he'd be even more dominant.

It seems like Westbrook is really underrated by a lot of people. Yes, his decision making could be better, but he is a damn good/dominant PG. Half the reason his decision making is considered poor is because he happens to play with Durant. In most cases, a great player like Westbrook keeping the ball isn't really a bad thing, but when you play with Durant it is. While it's a valid knock on his game, he does a lot of really, really good things.

In all honesty though, Kyrie is so good I think it's splitting hairs to argue about him and Westbrook.

Westbrook is a Kobe-style defender. Good on-ball, horrid off-ball (remember TP's game winner earlier this season? Westbrook got caught ball-watching).

Amongst PG's, one of the best in terms of defensive rating. But Westbrook is overrated as a PG. Put him on Cleveland and his numbers would take a hit.

Fair criticism, Artest us the same. They are good at focusing on their own men but I think Westbrook is a better team defender than either guy. Russ is very underrated in this forum, I have been one of his few consistent reporters.

I like Irving. He plays with decisiveness, with purpose. As if everytime he touches the ball, he already knows what he's going to do with it. Smooth guy.. Batman really fits the name.
