A few things.

I do fell responsible for this thread. I have no doubts Shadowmoaner got tired of looking in the mirror and seeing a leech staring back. Good job my man I'm proud of you.

I totally miss Borders, a casualty of the internet. Since the closest one was 30 miles away it was a nice little journey, grab some lunch and hang out among the music/books. Always scoring stuff I needed. Don't really miss Blockbuster.

The internet is like having the world at your fingertips, it's all there. It's also the great equalizer, I know about Dallas Baptist sprinter Francis Baldwin nobody here does and neither do most on a site about sprinting, he ran one great race...9.2...then poof! Yet you can find him...GOOGLE.

Then of course we have the hung like a horse factor. Everyone is a bad mofo ....in hiding. So all these skinny little s who got pushed around (Blake, johnsmith, Clipper Nation etc etc) all their life can now be bad asses...in hiding. Now they are right there with the legit bad asses like myself.

Amazon Instant has a far larger selection for rent than any blockbuster ever did.

Amazon Instant is great. The Prime Membership has tons of stuff. But there are some movies that they don't have available for rent and you can only purchase.

The deals at Blockbuster have gotten ridiculously low so I still go in from time to time.

I knew it was just a matter of time before the boy finally came to his senses. I could see the potential, I knew he could do it. Nobody wants to continue on as a lowly leech. What I could never get him to understand is nobody is talking about posting threads every day or even every week, just once in awhile to show he does feel a sense of obligation to add something instead of just take take and take. Now I'll treat the boy with a little more respect, no longer put him way down there with the Blakes of the world.

Years ago when I was younger and debit cards were just becoming the norm...i rented a game from smaller Blockbuster and took it back. Out if the blue about 3 months later they charged my debit card for $250!! I went to back to the store and asked them why? They said I didn't return it. I walked to the shelf, grabbed it and showed it to him, it was the only copy they had. Nobody checked it back in or had rented it since.

I expected ok we'll submit and refund within two months or what have you. Nope...dude opened up the cash register and gave the all the cash back on the spot. Never rented from there again.

I only have a wii, though they just announced a VOD app for the wii but it will be in SD.

True, although I still use Firefox, albeit an old version of it.

Anything pass version 4.0 is utter gargabe.

I downloaded version 15 last month and it was so slugglish and slow I couldn't take it. Went back to version 3.6. Works to perfection.

I use Google Chrome for more sensitive things like when I buy stuff online and for streaming high quality or HD videos.

Firefox is the beast I ride every day while Google Chrome is only used on special occasions. lol

Off the top of my head I couldn't name them- but I miss being able to walk the Blockbuster isles and find that rare gem, or foreign film that I never caught or just a diamond in the rough,etc...

Sucks to be you. There are still two open and operating Blockbusters within a couple miles of my house.
