Obviously Ezekiel is a longshot, but we should remember that him and Raulerson became very good friends at the Army All-American game. There were some pictures, that I cannot find now, where Elliott threw the "Hook 'Em" handsign in front of some trophies. iirc someone asked if it was Raulerson who made him do it, and he replied with something like "no comment". I wouldn't out too much in too it, and I think that TheMex' scenario is more realistic.

But I do like that Porter is going ANYWHERE to find this class' RB. Collins is still my favorite though.

24/7 saying 2014 DE Jarrett Johnson of Katy Seven Lakes has a Junior Day invite. The staff told him he can go on the 10th or the 23rd. He plans to be there on the 10th if everything works out with his mother's schedule.

According to Inside Texas, the UT staff is doing their best to get a lot of the uncommitted studs for the 2014 class in on the second Junior Day as opposed to the first as it's usually done. The idea is allowing these guys to see spring practice, let them sit in on position meetings, etc. 2014 S Edward Paris and 2014 S Jamal Adams are two guys expected in Austin on the 23rd. If you follow both of those guys on Twitter, you know they're pretty good friends. 2014 CB Darrion Johnson also has an invite and he should be on campus the 10th.

WR Sebastian LaRue has eliminated Notre Dame, per his Twitter.

Looks like A&M or back to USC unless Texas can work some late magic.

Some are saying he's a silent TAMU commit and he wants to announce on NSD on ESPNU. We'll see.

I really enjoy reading Jamal Adams' tweets! It sounds like he is already a Texas commit. Very encouraging tweets from him! His Hudl highlights are private, but he posted some of his junior highlights on YouTube, for those who haven't seen them yet.

Any word/guess on how big the '14 class is going to be? Over/under 25?

Also, any words on som potentiel OOS linebackers? Outside of Hoza Scott and Cameron Hampton the state of Texas doesn't seem to have that many big time linebacker prospects, do they? Where does Otaro Alaka, Zach Whitley, James David and Josh Mabin stand compared to this years class?
I know 5-star Raekwon McMillan has been mentioned but he is supposedly a Ohio State/Georgia battle. I would love to see Texas contact Dwight Williams of Juniperro Serra (Cal.) or Clifton Garrett of Plainfield South (Il.)

Speaking of Washington State, I forgot to mention this to y'all.

Did you see DeSoto HS told Mike Leach he's no longer welcome at the school? He pulled a scholarship of one of their players.

Quotes from 2014 OG/C Terrell Cuney of Jasper (24/7):

“Recruiting has picked up for me,” said Cuney. “More and more schools are becoming interested. TCU stopped by my practice this week to check on me. I’ve obviously heard from Texas, along with Oklahoma State, LSU and some others. I can feel it’s about to heat up though.”

“Texas is definitely my number one at this point,” Cuney said. “I would say that Oklahoma State is my number two, followed by LSU at three.”

“The Longhorns have shown a lot of interest in me first off,” explained Cuney. “They’ve shown a lot of love. Plus, Coach (Stacy) Searels is real cool and I like him a lot. They have a winning tradition too and I was really impressed with their bowl game victory. I think they turn it around very soon. I also grew up a Longhorn fan, so that helps!”

“Man everybody in my neighborhood and my town that plays sports all talk about Texas,” he said. “So for me to get all this attention like I’m getting and them being this interested in me is amazing to me. I’m just so humble and so blessed for all of it. I can’t believe it.”

“I’m really excited about it (the Texas Junior Day),” Cuney told Hookem.com. “I’m anxious to see everything. I want to check it all out. I want to see the school and the dorms especially. I know as far as the facilities go, they’re going to have very nice things. Probably the best. So I’m not worried about all that. I want to see the other part of it, though.”

TFloss, I got an email from 24/7 giving out a few pointers but can't look at the whole thing bc Im not a paid member. -AShawn Robinson and Billings recruitment has been helped by the OLs? --Robinson's visit to Alabama went... -Something about Kenny Hill -Dontre Wilson not impressed by Meyer's visit and other stuff... -Selvin Young's younger brother... care to share? THANKS

I think A&M is in a great spot with Garrett and Whitley. Noil would be a beast in A&M's offense but he seems destined for LSU.

24/7 saying most of Texas' offensive staff will be at DeSoto HS this morning to see RB Dontre Wilson. Also, for some reason, Ohio State's school visit didn't go as well as expected.

These were the recruiting notes from 24/7 this morning...

-both DT Andrew Billings and DT A'Shawn Robinson have been receiving a lot of negative recruiting from other schools saying Texas is essentially lying about their future on the defensive side of the ball and they'll end up on the offensive line once they get to Austin. Now that UT has five solid commitments for the OL in 2013 with the additions of Harrison and Hammad, that argument is out the window. Also, Robinson's official visit to Alabama last weekend was described as being "ok." Texas definitely remains the favorite but USC is still considered a legitimate threat.

-nothing new on QB Kenny Hill other than him being a "longshot." He'll be at A&M this weekend for his official visit.

-Texas is starting to take a harder look at RB Dre'Vian Young of Aldine Nimitz (brother of former Texas RB Selvin Young). He's currently committed to Utah but Texas is his "dream school."

Quotes from OL Rami Hammad after his commitment to Texas (OrangeBloods). Hard not to be excited for the kid:

"I knew he (Stacy Searels) was interested … at first, it was regular interest," Hammad, decked out in Texas gear, said in the Irving head coach's office on Wednesday evening. "He said he'll come see me Tuesday, and then the next day I get the offer. He said, 'I loved you from the beginning, and I regret not recruiting you as a junior. I hope this doesn't affect us in this process.' I went up there and visited. I sat there with coach and went through a lot of things, and getting information from here and there … if you go to UT, you're set for life. Like they said, it's a 40-year decision, not a four-year decision. Everything fell into place, and it felt like home."

"They (Hammad's family) said to me, 'Take it easy. I know you're excited. Make sure we compare it to other schools.' I said there is no comparison,"
Hammad said. "This is where I want to be. I had over 50 offers. I was really blessed to have the opportunity to choose where I wanted to go. All those offers were just like a checkmark on a book. This one, it felt like so much more. I was so excited when I got the offer."

"At first I thought I was solid to Baylor, but then as soon as I talked to Texas it was just a big question mark that popped up,"
stated Hammad. "I knew it was a dream school. I was comfortable with Baylor for quite a bit, and never thought I was going to switch. But when a dream school drops in, it's hard to deny an offer like that. And I'm not just going to go there and be a guy. I want to be the guy on the offensive line. That's one thing I said. 'I want to make sure I'm the guy you want, coach.' And he confirmed that to me, and after reassuring me with Mack Brown seeing me, I felt like that was the place I needed to go."

"As a kid, my parents were divorced and we drove through Austin to get from Dallas to McAllen,"
Texas' newest commitment said. "Every time I drive by, I'd see the Longhorns playing and I'd see all the fans. I used to pass by, and I said, 'I want to be that guy on that field playing and having all those people watching me.' If you grow up in Texas, all you see right and left are Longhorns. It just kind of fell into place and it turned into my dream school. Early in the recruiting process, I didn't get the offer and I know they offer early. I never thought it would be something that would come true, and when it did … it was just amazing."

"I actually met Vince Young at our dinner at the Vince Young Steakhouse,"
Hammad said with a big smile. "I went to Mack Brown's house. I saw campus. I just had an absolute blast. I loved the city. It was like New York in a small town. Academically, they're really high on the charts. In my head, I was thinking academics? Check. Football? Check. Tradition? Check. Do I like this place? Check. And that was something big with me considering my religion and academics and stuff. I wanted to make sure it fit, but I knew it would."

"We watched a little bit of 'drill tape' just to get a feel of how he does things,"
stated Hammad about his meeting with Searels, the Texas offensive line coach. "But he wants to put the best guys on the field, and that's something I saw in his eyes when he talked to me. He said the best five will play. That's all that matters. That's all I want is an opportunity. And if I get that opportunity, I know I'll shine. And he really sounded truthful when he said that. He's played freshmen. It's a hard thing to do for a coach to put a senior on the bench when a freshman is better than him."

    "They were really happy,"
Hammad said of the UT coaches. "He (Searels) said, 'We're going to be the best offensive line in the nation.' I guarantee we have the best offensive line in the nation. I want to add to that and go win a national championship."

"Something people don't know about me is that nothing has ever been given to me,"
stated Hammad. "Seventh grade year I was on 'B' team; eighth grade year I was on 'B' team; ninth grade year I was on 'B' team; then I was on junior varsity; and then first year of varsity … boom. I shined. Nothing was ever given. I always had to work and fight hard at every level. I always believed. I had the physical ability. I just needed to learn the game. In the end, it's really paid off. If it takes time to build up and you go the hard route, it's hard for someone to knock you off your route. I truly believe that."

    "I go 100 percent,"
said Texas' 15th commitment. "I will always go to the whistle blows, and sometimes over that. But I try to keep that under control. I'm a hard worker in the weight room. I'm a hard worker on the team. I'm always on time. I just love the game. It's just really a blessing and I'm trying to take advantage of it."
