Might as well throw him out there. Practices only help so much.

Well Diaw and SJAX both played their 1st game with the Spurs vs the Mavs, so why not. Of course Patty Mills was against Phx.

I think he was saying that he wants to bring toughness, he wants to be a toughness type player like Reggie Evans. I don't think he was saying that his game is like Reggie's. He was just comparing the toughness aspect. He said he wants to be a tough guy out there. He said that he kind of has his own game.

    Reggie Evans stats:

    20 min: 3 pts, 9 boards

Evans is good at what he does rebound the ball, hopefully Baynes can do just that rebound and get some easy buckets.

For non-stars, Reggie Evans is one I always hope that Spurs could sign. He is a tough blue-collar guy, yet with no iness like Perkins. He plays for a lot of teams. Plus, he is not expensive at all. Maybe he has something which I don't know that Pop/Bufford don't like, it's strange that there is not even rumor for him coming to Spurs.

    2. Never before has any NBA team had 2 Australians on its active roster. (Assuming something mysterious doesnt happen to Patty Mills)

Probably doesn't mean much to you blokes but as an Aussie and lifetime Spurs fan I'm proud of that.

Another interesting thing is that the Spurs currently have more players from outside the US than from (8 vs 7, not sure that has ever happened) and currently have 4 players from the Southern hemisphere.

Don Harris ‏@DonHarris4 Spurs just signed Aron Baynes. made it official. Seven footer will wear number 16. Will not be in uniform tonight. Hear him on News 4 at 6.
Seven Footer. I've everything from 6-9 to 7-0 ft, Draft express had him at a little over 6'10" barefoot...
Anybody see him at the game next to any players?

The two guys to his right are 6'11'' so Baynes should be 6'10''.

I see him taking Blair spot this year and Diaws spot next year. So we will have no impact from him this year IMO unfortunately as this year is crucial for TD and MG

DX uses the NBA draft combine measurements, and is considered the gold standard. Most teams measure in shoes, so Baynes would be listed as 6'11" by most teams. Spurs will probably list him at 6'10, not caring about such things for the most part.

    Whatever happened to Raef?

The Spurs were considered boring when David Robinson was here, and he's probably in the top five all time for spectacular dunks.
Really? Ahead of Dawkins, Dr. J, Dominique, Jordan, Vince Carter, etc?

He measured out as the same exact height as Splitter. He's much bigger and stronger though, he's got around 20-30lbs on Splitter. Really good player to have against teams like Memphis.

if he's a aggressive banger, then he would help more against Collison and The Jeepers Peepers Creature.

A welcomed addition to the Spurs frontline. I would expect Baynes to most certainly get some spot minutes in blowouts and of course during those games where Pop elects to rest Duncan.

Regarding the salary onversation...nothing will be better for the Spurs to have Baynes like Asik. The contract problem is nothing. Ones you have such a player you have power to make trades before you loose him. Is that correct?
