mitch was cheered on after the dwight/nash moves. "they will pay for their basketball reasons"
not that those guys aren't panning out Laker fans are saying stuff like "wow jim buss ruined our future"
Good point. I didn't think about those two. That said, it seemed pretty clear from the outset that the D'Antoni hire was Buss. Hiring Phil would probably have had a vastly different result, so it's kind of a keystone transaction.

The most worrisome about Howard right now is his shoulder. There is a strong possibility that this injury end up with a season ending surgery.

And even with two consecutive season-ending surgeries, he'll get 20M per season. Very risky proposition for any team, even more so for those teams that typically stay under the tax.

Hate to bring this up, but i'd be curious to see how people would react if Holt traded Duncan & a filler for Howard?

It could actually make them a lot better this season.

The spurs would only trade Duncan if Mid 90s Jordan shows up asking for a trade of him for Duncan and tosses in a defesnive pf so that the spurs aren't short on bigs.

Howard is one the most stupid basketball players ever to play in the NBA.
If it wasn't for massive doses of steroids, he probably would play pick up basketball on Sunday morning.
He knows ZERO about team basketball.
He is a joke technically, team-wise, and, I suspect from his ridiculous problems with FTs, he is very unprofesional in his at ude toward his job.
I'll take a 50 years old TD over this kid.

What's to disagree with? The steroids part is debatable, but Howard doesn't play good team basketball, he overrates himself, he's basically a scrub in the post and at the line, winning is secondary to his own agenda, and while his rebounding has been good, he's clearly hurt his teams with his toxic behaviour on and off the court.

Even if we claim that this year is a new season, in spite of his terrible shooting from the line and his lack of skill inside -Howard's still insisting that he should be getting the ball more on offense. This year. Not to mention the whole passive aggressive act. I'm sorry but that's not a good team player. Count me in as another one who would much rather have Duncan.

You know it's coming already. Some idiot GM will give his franchise player away to the Lakers for nothing.
As much as I hate to admit it, this is probably what will happen.

The 'Roid part isn't debate-able the NBA has been testing for that stuff for years, his teammate Rashard Lewis actually got popped for it in Orlando)

He doesn't overate himself, he was been a monster with or without a post game. His game has improved especially the face-up and hitting that left hook.. Since 1976 he amoung the top rebounders in the same category as Duncan, Rodman, Shaq, Barkley in Rebounds per game. 3 DVOP and he is just only turned 27. 6'10 with an 38'inch vert. Runs the floor hard for easy points and draws doubles for the 4 wings that he played with in Orlando.

Just think that one of the two seasons ago Orlando had the 3rd best defense with Hedo, Red , & Ryan Anderson Vince Carter & Gilbert Arenas all playing at least 20 minutes per game. He had that much impact that he was able to keep that squad from hemorrhaging points. 22pts, 14 rpg, 1.5 spg, 2.5 bpg and 60%FG that season is almost unprecedented.

The Free-throws is a moot point Shaq, & Wilt both were horrid free throw shooters, that didn't stop them from dominating D12 has played with a serious back problem but is still 20pts ,10 rpg. As Skip Bayless has pointed out, Kobe has take almost 115 shots more than anyone in the NBA, he could sit 6 games and still safely lead the league in that category. Howard has to share the ball with not only Kobe, but Pau & Nash and even Metta. Shaq has also pointed out that some of his problems are because they aren't making a concerted effort to post him because D'antoni's inexperience with a true big man

I'm not defending the politician act (telling people what they want to hear) but on the court he has played hard and seldom misses games,15 in the last 8 seasons and has had to put up with a ecentric coach who rubs people the wrong way. The ownership didn't do him any favors trading for Carter and Arenas, and an aging over-payed Hedo not to mention moving Gortat in one of those deals making Dwight essientially the only big man on the team. It was essentially be the face of a dysfunctional team or move elsewhere ( Barkley did something to that extent if I'm not mistaken)

Carmelo was seen as selfish but that he has helped turn to Knicks from jokes to contenders in the east. If D12 turns his team in to contenders then all of a sudden he is an unselfish player but because he hasn't gotten his team to where they need to be he isn't a team player, that seems inherently unfair.
